The game has a ton of potential. Sadly, them stating that RT is coming post launch tells me that potential isn't going to be met at launch.
As long as I can play the campaign co op with friends from day 1 I'll be happy.

All these people are probably hating the fact they develop the quintessential shooter with a middle-aged white male protagonist that kills aliens and has a naked blue chick in his pocket. They must be hating every minute and it shows.
Yes, but this was their moment , instead they borked it, instead of endlessly polishing it .I see it very clearly now.
They just need more time.
Most of the problems we see are graphical bugs or polish tasks.
Lod logic, grass popping out, phantoms not animated to fly, this is just polish.
The demo showed they are far behind. They needed a big effort to make it look like this because they are not done.
All games look like shit till the end of developement when it all comes together (or when they spend months on a beautiful corner for a demo with scripted gameplay, which does not seem to be the case of halo at all, they could have baked the gameplay and fix the visual issues on top)
The question is how much time do they need to finish it up. I'd say one year.
Also, I am starting to see many things I like from the reveal, gameplay wise.
Not at all. I still want to think that what was shown is an older build but looks like I can’t give them any more excuses...Does anyone else think Halo gameplay demo was polished ?
Phil is probably thinking in cancelling the whole thing and shutting down 343 right now.Doesn't that mean 1-2 years delay?
MS has that guy, but he shows up to add MTX, lootboxes, GaaS and coop.Phil is probably thinking in cancelling the whole thing and shutting down 343 right now.
They need an Yoshida at MS....
Yoshida is the dude that when Demon's Souls was first showed for him he had the balls to say that it played like crap....
- This is crap," Yoshida recalled saying. "This is an unbelievably bad game." -
Conclusion, From Software called Myazaki that fixed the whole thing and the game became a master piece.
Yoshida was also the dude that on the first time he played the newest God of War he scared Cory Barlog...
"He kinda just shook his head and walked out the door," Barlog said. "He never told me how he felt. In fact, he only told one of my friends, who he saw at a party. He [Yoshida] said, 'Oh, you're working on God of War? I just gotta say, I played the game the other day. I was horrified.' - Cory Barlog.
Shuhei Yoshida's first play of God of War - "He was horrified"
There may still be more than four months still to go, but God of War seems certain to among a small handful of names in…www.gamesindustry.biz
Conclusion, Santa Monica fixed the damn thing and God of War turned out to be a GOTY.

Do you think that's passible for a 12TF machine? Graphically this should be looking amazing. RDR2 looks 10times as good on a 6TF machine.
What are you talking about? stop trying to make up narratives. Zero of this was any reaction to Sony. How do you bridge hardware bug in devkits to reacting to sony? Or are you talking about showing the game too early?Sure, but the HW being buggy and so late in such a way that is keeping tools behind and developers do not use it to show the games off would be telling in and of itself... how much was it MS that actually reacted to Sony (SSD + I/O complex and other bits) instead of the other way around and how much was it MS's chasing the 12.x TFLOPS victory so bad that is causing the design to be finalised so long after PS5?
Can please someone explain this gif? I just don't get it.

This isn't the first time hardware issues were found while in development on a new console platform. PS3, literally didn't have real hardware until long after the reveal ( Heavenly sword was rendered out on a PS3 at 1 frame per second and compiled into a video for its reveal). Xbox 360 hardware arrived super late for developers. Usually its firmware bugs that are the performance limiting factor. even PS4 and Xbox had performance issues with revisions of firmware.
Anyway, for CPU and GPU you can find a match on PC, but you won't get the hardware changes for compression and decompression + some of the other features of xbox hardware. So saying it was demonstrated on a PC with an SSD isn't the same as using actual hardware. MS fucked up, and should have pushed this conference off if they didn't have the real hardware. I can see the reasoning behind it, but I just don't agree with demoing on anything but.
Jesus Christ, another spin?
How many? Early build. COVID-19. It's polished.
Show a good product and you won't have to say shit Microsoft.

Remember people tried to give Jason Schreier crap for saying the Xbox Series X was behind schedule
Maybe he was right after all
Why don't you just accept it?Not at all. I still want to think that what was shown is an older build but looks like I can’t give them any more excuses...
Delay it guys. Make it the best it can be. Take another year. Otherwise you may end up with the next Anthem on your hands.Employee Spotlight: Ani Shastry

For real though. Bu bu pre alphaWhy don't you just accept it?
Yeah true, that makes perfect senseWell few months before the HW is supposedly in stores and they are unable to run their top of the line game on real HW stably enough for an internal produced demo reel... well...
This is more important than politicsHow do people find stuff like this? There is more digging up dirt going on with console wars than with presidential elections

I think you guys are being harsh on this.
This game was clearly, CLEARLY, built for Xbox One. A Halo game to be open-world at 60fps on Xbox One was the goal here. At some point very late into the process, Microsoft wanted this game to be updated for the Xbox Series X. You cannot simply "transfer" everything into next-gen with the flip of the switch. What you are seeing is a cross-gen game predominately built for the former.
