Is the faceplate only available with the LE or hardware bundle, or will it be available separately as well?
 
w/ resonses like this, the game will never make here in US side... and that's for sure.

Unless it's a boy-band making game, it won't get here in USA, because we only care for the underaged girls, not boys.

Heck, we Americans (secretly) cherishes the Jr. High kid who had sex w/ his hot blonde teacher as a "lucky one". LOL

And having many boy bands who sell their cutie images (like New Kids On The Block or what not) didn't matter... but underaged girls are a totally different matter. Gotta wait til they become "legal" and even so, having any sort of fascination of the female character in Animu and games are a total no-no and loser behavior to begin with. :)

Night at the Office - Depending on how you do, reporters can favor your girl over the competition, or visa versa, affecting her image ranking.
 
I saw someone mention this on another blog, but this one promo image below looks a LOT like the Morning Musume lineup back in their glory days around 2000. Perhaps a tribute to the group that reignited the idol scene (even if it didn't last more than a few years)?

FYI I was reading on 2ch that some of the characters are indeed literally replicas of certain Morning Musume girls, I think the one with the two ponytails is one of them.

Cel-Shading is great though. Wish they'd put their assets/skills to use in a better game.
 
I'm only 22, but I feel like a dirty old man just glancing at this topic. I hope the new "audition mode" the 360 version is getting isn't anything like the "Teen Auditions" that can be found on the interweb. The premise of the game (exploiting a teen girl) is just a little creepy.

I don't mean anything sexual, I just mean you play the roll of a manager and exploit a digital teen girl's talent as best you can to get rich and win the game. You're like a "stage mom", you don't play as the girl, you just coach her and tell her what she should be doing to be the #1 pop star.

Graphics are improved, facial expressions have more feeling and emotion, models improved, etc.
Intend on having monthly downloads through Marketplace, initially clothes and accessories, later on have some "secrets" in store for folks, but probably not new songs.
 
Preorders for it were sold out on the official site a while back.. so the only thing I would suggest is to wait and see what happens when it's released.
 
From the website we have (2) 12 year olds (the twins), (3) 16yo's, (2) 14yo's, a 13yo and a 15yo. Only two of the listed characters are of the age that we (the U.S) find acceptable for a girl to exploit herself at. If this makes it to the states, I wonder will those numbers maybe be altered a bit.
 
That is the entire roster... and you'd be kidding yourself if you ever expect this to leave Japan. (Not necessarily for the reasons you mentioned though.)

You're right about the roster. I made the edit. However, a lot of niche titles have been making it stateside in recent years. Repackage it, throw in some lame teenie-pop music, and legalize the ladies... who knows.

Why do they have to legalize the girls? This is a music game not a sex game, yes? Brittney Spears started at a young age...
 
I finally read up on how the whole game works...

It’s interesting, but the fact that you’d have to retire the idols “prematurely” is kind of meh. It seems they remain as teen idols and you don’t get to develop them into bigger stars.

Also, you can only start out with solo acts, and work your way up and be able to produce duos and trios. And it seems like there are no group idols involved on the scale of sayÂ…Morning Musume. ThatÂ’s kinda meh as well.

Maybe when it's a lil bit cheaper I'll pick it up. So many 360 games I'm waiting for a price drop anyways..

Brittany was all cutesy on that Disney show when she was young and didn't really start whoring it up until she was 17/18. That is a far cry from 12/13. I know this isn't a sex game, but some of the costumes look little too risque for a twelve year.
 
You know how Microsoft had the "world collection" for Xbox in Japan? US games that they left basically untranslated and untouched and released over there?

They should do the same for titles like this in the US.

Any update on Silpheed BTW?
 
What I still don't understand is how a Japanese-only Xbox360 title can possibly sell more than a translated US version of *any* game.

What's it going to do over there, 80k copies to be a smashing success? It's tough to believe that's really out of reach for NA, no matter how niche the game.......
 
It's not just about sales, it's about cost/benefit as well. There are plenty of games released in the NA that sell less than 50K, and the effort that would go into localizing it just to sell 15K and potentially get bad press is probably not a risk most companies would take.

Plus if it came over here, it would probably be handled by Namco Hometek. And we all know what that means...

The age of the girls in the game seem to fall in line with several idol groups in Japan, including Morning Musume (who many of the game characters seem to be inspired from, particularly the 12-year old twins), and the costumes seem to be in line with said idol groups.

That whole exchange that lead to me making that comment was based on it being brought to the U.S.. I posed the question, "would they change the ages for the U.S release?" (if it were brought over here)
 
please DO NOT link to direct stream, it may cause streaming problems.
We discussed about banning foreign IPs when bluedragon came out and tons of firewalled ppl rushed to streamings.
 
And off we go... items up on Marketplace, ranging from 0 for limited edition commemorative stuff, to 500 Points for an outfit. Each item can also boost the stats of your idol-to-be.

And it's not region free. (surprise surprise)
