360/PS3 Multi-Platform Games: Which will you buy? (Pros & Cons)

360, because every PS3 multigame I have seen have been slightly worse and the colors have been completely washed out.
Let's wait and see how the meaningful titles do, ala DMC4. Honestly, seeing EA's 2nd gen X360 games look slightly better than PS3's first gen does nothing for me. Look at game like LBP if you have any doubts about the PS3's performance. Also, the new dev kits will help developers a lot.

How about: I'll wait until each version is reviewed with confirmed features and quality?

Anything before that and it's not unbiasedly about the games, it's biasedly about Sony or Microsoft.

Getting a 360 eventually, but will stick stick to the PS3 version due to free online play.

I also prefer Sony's controller.

I'll be getting the 360 version of most multi-platform games for the controller and achievements, but if later in the generation, PS3 versions start to outperform their 360 counterparts, (if they have more stable framerates, especially) I'll start to lean in that direction.

Also if certain games use multiple discs on 360, I'll pick up the PS3 version instead.

360. achievements and i don't wanna deal with the piss poor 'free' online, where the COD3 servers are down all weekend and there seems to be no rush to get them back online.

unless there's something that's miles better on the PS3, of which there may be 1 or 2.

hey, a bias thread!

there's no compelling reason to get it on PS3 right now even if you like the system better, if you actually own both. but that could definitely change in the future if Home is well implemented and developers get a handle on the Cell.

Except you know, these reasons...

Pros: Free Online, Potential Home Hooks, Potential PSP connectivity, Blu-Ray format for uncompressed movies/textures/etc, Game can be installed on HDD for faster loadtimes

Seems like you're the biased one for not even considering the pros/cons to each.

oh man :lol

I can think of lots of reasons to want to own a PS3 instead of a 360. And I can think of lots of reasons it could be better in the future. But I would think that the question assumes having both. Now. But if you want to keep tallying votes for a subject that's been done a few times, I hope you reach a satisfactory conclusion.

I've considered it, and I own both consoles. The only correct answer is probably assess the strengths of the particular game, and not some amorphous set of features that seem much more in place right now for the older console.

PSTriple

1. dedicated servers
2. BEST controller
3. upgradeable hard drive
4. Awesome media hub
5. free online service
6. HDMI
7. BC
8. Blu Ray player
9. pretty looking thang :lol :lol

I think it will depend on the maturity of platform-specific services as well as the features and the quality of the multiplatform game.

That's if I had both the 360 and PSTriple, of course. (And a PSP, and the game which can connect to the game, and Live Gold etc etc.)

Well for me, all my multi-platform games are going to be on the ps3, it is my primary console on my TV. my 360 is for everything i cannot buy for the ps3, that i want.

When HOME is up and running we will see some type of achievements for ps3 and force feedback is coming, when? who knows.

What the hell do the bold ones have to do with PS3 versions of multiplatform games? If anything, #4 would go in the direction of the 360 due to streaming music from your PC while playing.

A few reasons why id just go with the PS3 version in the end.

PS3... because its the only plataform I got.

If I had both I would buy the one reviewers think its better. But if Im only interested in the online aspect then Id get it for PS3, since I dont have to pay.

For example. If I had a 360 and PS3 and I had to make a decision on which console to buy Half Life 2: Orange, then its simple : the 360 version since Valve themselves are doing the port themselves and an unknown port house is doing the PS3 edition.

If I had both, of course!

If there's multiplayer as of now I'm always going to go with the 360 version because pretty much none of my friends have a PS3. :-(

Of course the 'Free Online' isn't always that, sometimes the online mode has been hacked out of the PS3 version with a rusty chisel, as with THP8 and Virtua Tennis 3.

PC
-Costs half.

:lol It's true. It's ridiculous how much cheaper multi-platform games sometimes are on PC. Either license fees are higher for next gen consoles or they are gouging the consumer. Oblivion in particular comes to mind.

Depends on the game and which console it was developed on. In most cases, ports suck. Oblivion is the exception, but right now most of the PS3 multis are inferior ports. That'll change as more games are created on the PS3 dev kits. The best version of a game isn't determined by personal hardware preferences.

PS3 games are always a better buy because of SONY's proven historic BC ethics....

I mean look at those XBOX users who invested in great games like PanzerDragoon and GunValk last gen.....cant do anything with the disks on the X360....

U gotta be joking....I love the PS3 but there are things that should never been taken out.

Rumble has never done anything for me. I can understand people missing it, but I honestly don't care that it's missing from the current Sixaxis.

And people that care can by the upcomming Dual Shock 3 +

PS3 I guess cause I like the controller more and if I want to play online I can because of the wifi(my ps3 and 360 are pretty far away from my internet connection).

Although that all goes out the window if there is something seriously wrong with the PS3 version and/or the 360 version is cheaper.

ps3 versions

-hdd support
-free online
-(possibly)psp connectivity
-and the most important....dont have a 360 yet

I'll take it on a game by game basis.

If one has more features (a la Virtua Tennis 3 online on 360) then I'll get that version.

All things being equal, the main thing tipping me towards the 360 versions are the achievements. They're like crack I tell you. That will be a moot point of course once Home and "trophies" kick in.

I tell you the game I hope ALL multi-console owners get for ps3 is that new katamari game. This is the one game where dualshock/sixaxis haters can kiss my ass. Playing a katamari game with asymmetrical sticks is blasphemy! Seriously, pretend right now with the 360 pad...weird isn't it?

Well until I get my PS3 which won't be for a while far as I can tell it'll be all 360. Still I'm inclined to get the best version of the game regardless of console. I mean there are so many variables, like controls, extras, online, hardware specific game features, community, friends, etc.

I got Fifa on Gamecube cause I liked how the pass button was A and it made the game play better. Not to mention faster loading. I like Metal Gear on PS2 cause the game is designed around that controller, I own Subsistence and still prefer the game on PS2. I got PoP Sands of Time for Xbox cause there was supposed to be DLC. I got Halo PC for the extra maps and online play. PS2 only had two controller ports too. I just get what I think is the best version, sometimes that means buying a game twice.

A good current example is I heard the PS3 version of Virtua Tennis 3 isn't online, don't know if it's true but on 360 it is. I hate the PS3 controller for FPS but feel like motion control will make some ports better. Still there's lead sku, and timed exclusivity which are all factors and if you're a multiconsole owner you weigh all those variables and walk away happy.

360 because most my friends play on it as well. I've been into MLG/gamebattles as of late and it seems 360 gets more attention in that area. But as for offline games, depends on the content. If it isn't much differnt on PS3 I'd rather get it on 360 with achievements.(Used to make fun of people like that before, but they're fun)
