3D Trailers for E3 games up on 3DS eShop

Showed the trailers to a couple friends.

They will now be buying a 3DS.

It is working.

Too bad NOE doesn't want me to show those trailers to my friends.

Maybe we'll get a Rebecca Black Music Video instead... Friday friday, Nintendo of Europe updates on Friday...

So can we have a thread about this now?

Lack of E3 content on the EU E-shop is pretty ridiculous considering they've been updating it with other crap, and they've even put up the 2D trailers on the Wii's Nintendo Channel... I mean wtf priorities.

Yes, it's nice to have 3D trailers, but the quality is pretty shit...
Yeah, it's better than the ones you can stream on the eShop, but I would prefer a file twice as large with better quality.

Not the best movie ever, but it's nice that they can just add a movie trailer at any time without having to wait for the Thursday updates.

Nintendo isn't going to remove trailers I've downloaded in future updates like they did with that music video, are they?
The music video was part of the firmware and not a piece of downloaded content.

Games are uploaded on Thursdays (with a PR sent out the previous Monday).
It seems trailers can be added at any time, though.
Unless the schedule is slightly weird at launch and will become more regular in a few weeks time.

Been watching the Mario trailer nonstop. Does anyone else think the flame effect look incredible in 3D?

ALL the mario games had really nice 3D effects.....Mariokart impressed me the most, but they all did look really good.
I had a problem with Zeldas trailer, but ill probably just turn it off for that game anyway (the fact you cant adjust 3D probably exaggerated the issue for me)

Green Lantern 3D Trailer on the eShop, I've been hearing.

Trailer for the movie, BTW, not the game.

The GL 3D trailer looked good but the 3D wasn't that strong even on full slider. I wonder if this will THQ a chance to bring back their video on cart idea and sell Tangled(the movie) on a 3DS cart. I know Netflix is coming but I don't remember it being said to be with some 3D movies.

Some moments had more depth that others during the trailer. Overall I liked it. I hope we see more 3D trailers of movies in the future.

The 3d slider has no effect on pre recorded video

If the 3D effect is that strong in the game, this will be the first I'll be turning the slider down from max. I have no problem with depth, but when anything comes out from the screen my more than 3cms, I cannot focus on it properly.

If you guys want video in 3d, just get a tripod and position the camera to get one side of the parralax barrier, then the other side, then edit them together with whatever you use. I'd do it but my Dslr doesn't do video.

Offering movie trailers in 3D is freaking awesome. The 3D in the Green Lantern trailer is pretty subtle though.

It's especially cool how Nintendo put it up on a non-update day too. I wonder what the next 3D movie trailer will be.

I'll ask here because I'm sure someone knows. My 3DS refuses to download anything from my wireless router. I can download things from any other wireless router such as the one my friend uses. Anyone know how I can fix this? This is the only system I am having trouble with, I can't download any games or videos. It does connect online though which is weird.

What do you mean here?

That you can play a game on-line or surf the net but not get on the eShop? If so it may be a simple ports issue on your router. Well I say simple, it's rarely simple though. What router do you have?

Seriously, this shit sold me on a 3DS, I have one now, Ocarina of Time, Starfox 64 and Kid Icarus all looked fantastic.
How could this have sold you on a 3DS when you need a 3DS to see the 3D? Lol

Anywayz: its cool to see a movie trailer. The 3d is nowhere as great as games tho.

Because there are 3DS's out in the wild. Until the eShop launched however the only person with a 3DS I knew had no 3D content so it was just "meh."

Seriously, after seeing one in action I was hyped, at first I was pretty displeased just from looking at pics on the net but in person it's much better. I'm definitely getting Ocarina of Time now despite having no real urge to play it again before, let alone at that damn price point when I have it on VC.

How strange.
I thought the 3D on the GL trailer was too much. Wanted to turn it down a little!!

Horses for courses I guess

My weeks of ownership with no streetpasses gave me the impression there were no 3DS' in the wild :(
Well there might as well be none, not like I've ever seen another. I know one person besides myself with a 3DS, I know countless people with PS3s or 360s, knew a few that at least had a DS or PSP within the family even if it were just for the kids. Of course they've all been out longer too but still, I reckon I could walk around town all day and only get the one hit from my acquaintance, not that I even tried that yet as I just got mine yesterday.

And there's still essentially not much to play on it, but that's of course normal at first. Zelda will slightly help things but only slightly since it's a full priced re-release.

Frankly I'm expecting to be one of two people I know personally to have a 3DS for over 6 months!

The question is how many people, including yourself, that you knew with DSes in February 2005 or 360s in January 2006 or PS3s in January 2007.

I knew more people with DSes however I was the lone PS3 fanboy in my area, the 360 reigned supreme for a LONG time before they seemed anywhere equal. I actually worked in a store that sold them back during all those launches, oh the memories.

It's of course all anecdotal for sure but for my specific location the 3DS seems to have a slower uptake than the Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS in my city.

Of course another factor in all of this are a lot of things are being designed with the concept of running into other 3DS users, that's not an issue with the 360 or PS3, both the 3DS and the home consoles can play people on-line but only the portables have the near field interaction stuff as a selling point, so it makes it infinitely more frustrating when you can't actually find another person to connect with on a DS or 3DS.

Age will also come into play here, being an adult I'm less likely to take this to work than a kid taking his to school, any adult friends I have will essentially be the same so all of ours will be sitting at home while the kids are all out with theirs except, well, we're not all hanging out at schools and bus stops with kids so we're not going to run into them either. The demographics make it difficult.

And then for my situation there literally is almost no public transportation so I won't run into any to and from anywhere however the chance still exists if I bring it to me while shopping or something.

It is all about going to big events. I went to my GF sisters graduation yesterday and had 6 hits. Best I have had since launch.

What I am saying is I can play games online, and I can see my friends online, but I can not download anything. Everything from the FW update to videos and games will always end in error. If I take it to my friends house however, it has no problem downloading anything. I have a Ubee modem with built in wireless router. If it is a port issue, I would love the help.

The eShop uses to return errors when you have very low or inconsistent signal. First of all, check all the computers in your house to see if they're running bandwidth-intensive software (Netflix streaming, P2P or Steam for example). Then try moving closer to your router or check in the router config if there's something funky activated like blacklists of firewalls, maybe for and old device you no longer use and that the 3DS is taking the same IP to work or something like that. Maybe you can also try checking with some program the channel everybody else's wifi is using in your surroundings and configure yours at a free one.

Well it is the weekend now so probably not, hopefully we get them on Monday but knowing NOE we will have to wait till Thursday when they do their weekly update.

I've noticed that the slider is meaningless for movies or pictures. It's simply an on/off switch. The granularity of 3D seems to only work for games.

Also, I wish the volume wasn't so low.

Yeah, totally! I'm starting to get really pissed off at the system's low maximum volume output. =/
