3D Trailers for E3 games up on 3DS eShop

This is bullshit but after all these years of shit treatment, we shouldn't be surprised :-(

Shut up! You guys are getting Xenoblade, I would trade no 3D trailers for that :(

You can import Xenoblade, I can't import 3D trailers :p

Impressive 3d trailers, finally this eshop is paying off for more than a place to get game boy and 3d nes remakes

I especially enjoyed star fox 64 3d, the 3d seemed very potent to me for some reason there compared to other 3d trailers

Shouldn't there be a way for you guys in the US to upload these trailers for our viewing pleasure in Europe? Doesn't the data save to the SD-card or something?

I'm really starting to wonder why no one has bothered taking advantage of youtube's stereoscopic options to properly show some real 3D trailers of 3DS games, so that those of us who don't yet own one can experience them in all their glory and perhaps make a judgement on if we're into the whole 3D games thing.
When it's the whole draw of the system, you would expect Nintendo or at least some third party would want to give people as many ways as possible to experience it first hand. And we could be rid of that pesky disclaimer at the start of every 3DS video ever.

But nnooo, the current extent of youtube's stereoscopic game related material is rather pathetic: http://www.youtube.com/user/3D#grid/user/3E1EB3D4239FA0A6

These trailers are *amazing*.

I can't believe they allowed it to launch without this going on, but it's great now it's here (sorry Euro Brethren).

I must have watched Mario Kart and Luigi's Mansion ten times over. Mario Kart 3D shouldn't even have been shown in 2D, ever.

They reserved them (and LA DX) to be able to say "they'll be available TODAY" at the conference (and because Luigi's Mansion 2 wasn't announced yet).
Europe had a DOA:D and an OOT3D trailer, both 3D, already up from the start though.

Yes, I understand what happened. I don't think it was smart.

If I'd been able to show the Mario Kart 3D demo to people they would have *got* 3DS so much quicker than with Nintendogs/Street Fighter/Face Shooting.

Still, they are here now. And Luigi's Mansion is somewhat indescribably beautiful in 3D. It's like the screen disappears and you are holding a creepy doll house, with real characters running around inside... I just... it's beautiful.

But they were streaming directly from the eShop and linked to the product page instead of being downloads so I don't really know what the fuck are NOA and NOE thinking about.

Oh, sure.
And I knew Luigi's Mansion would have looked amazing after seeing screenshots of the first game in 3D :D

They were also compressed as hell. No idea about the downloadable trailers.

Japan also has Zelda streaming, but these downloads are much easier to access to show off to people. I think *that's* what they are thinking. With no 3G, more things will be stored locally. These aren't 'view once' sort of trailers. They are *SHOW THE WORLD, NINTENDO ARMY*.

Also I find myself jumping around in the timeline a lot. Streaming, that would piss me off.

And Europe still has no videos up. For fuck sake, I doubt we'll even get them.

Frustration aside... are the files on the SD card encrypted (the videos I mean) or could someone upload the files for us poor neglected Europeans to watch?

Well, what I actually was referring to was the complete disconnection between NOA and NOE for their respective eShop content management: one does downloadable trailers and the other one goes the streaming route, prices are .99 in the US and .00 in EU, all of that.

There is no video player, how would you watch it?

Ah, I see. I don't think streaming/download is necessarily a different strategy. The E3 section in the Euro shop will likely have the downloadable movies, just as with Japan which also has streaming in the shop, and downloadable in the E3 section of the shop...

Would be better to stream videos online... just makes sense. Watch trailer 'ooh looks good > buys game.

Right now it's download trailer > exit shop > watch trailer > open shop > find game > download.

Right? I dont have a 3ds (and am in UK anyway).

No. It's streaming for the bits where you can buy the game. It's download trailer for E3 Promotional Content which, I presume, Nintendo want you to be able to view/show at all times.

Still not up, starting to wonder if we're going to get them at all.

Link's Awakening went up around 9 or 10am from what I can tell?

Would it not make sense to have a page for retail games with trailers, pics, reviews, demos etc? Im a bit confused as to how it works just now....

They did mention demos for 3DS Ware and Retail games during their E3 conference, but obviously there's nothing there yet...

On the Europe store you can go to "in stores now" and then for each title, there may be a 'related video'. These are streamable videos.

In the US - it sounds like they've got a heap of exclusive Video downloads that can be saved - ie no streaming - to the 3DS main menu. I like both approaches, and I really wish NOE would take their thumb out of their ass and arm us with some cool videos. It would be in their best interests to give their customers stuff to show off and look forward to for the future.

NOE please do something...

It is highly annoying. At first I assumed it was just time difference or people being slow/lazy....now I'm wondering if we're just not getting them.

Of course there's a slim chance they intend on putting everything up on the Thursdays update (assuming there is one this week).

Lack of Xevious 3D in the west is annoying as well.

I downloaded the Zelda, Paper Mario, Super Mario, and Kid Icarus trailers. I thought that both Zelda and Kid Icarus videos looked terrible. I don't mean the games themselves look bad. I'm guessing it's just bad video quality, especially when things are moving quickly. Super Mario and Paper Mario looked fantastic. Most likely because the gameplay that was shown was either slow moving or stationary.

Edit: Wanted to clarify I meant bad video quality. Don't want people to think I meant the trailers were cut bad or something like that.

Mario Kart trailer in 3D blew my mind. Looks so fcking good....

I downloaded all of the trailers and imo this was the best by far. The 3D was nice and soft and not too strong like the other titles.

unfortunately in the trailers theres no 3D slider....its either on or off so hopefully the other ones look just as good with 3d turned down a little . I usually just turn 3d off in my games but could see keeping it on for mariokart.

Was least impressed by RE

The Zelda trailer is a frame by frame copy of the N64 trailer 13 years ago, but using the 3DS version.

The video compression is somewhat more noticable in games that are busier though.

The most impressive of the lot were Mario, Luigi's Mansion 2 and Star Fox 64 3D.

My personal favorite is Luigi's Mansion2. Flashlight effects in 3D and the 3D effects are pretty awesome.

Woah, I had no idea! The transition from 3D to those text cards in 2D was hurting my eyes though.

Also, is it just me or are there a few seconds of 2D footage in the Starfox trailer? After they say "motion controls."

Yeah its 5pm in the UK and 6pm in Germany. We're not getting this stuff today.

Fuck NOE. Fuck them up their stupid asses. Providing the most inferior eShop system, and the most inferior E3 service. Would it have hurt to put a few guys on overtime for a couple of days? Or maybe give them a day or two off towards the end of the week?

"Nahhhh lets just make everyone in Europe wait, or not give them stuff at all"

If there are any UK/Euro Nintendo shills reading this (which I doubt): your subsidiary is fucking shit and you are fucking shit. Unless of course, you have the power to make this right, in which case you're awesome. FIX THIS BULLSHIT PLEASE, ASAP.

come on Nintendo! Is there any reason the E3 trailers aren't in the eShop in Australia yet? So silly. Hope they come in the next few days, it'd be nice to show the system off.

Quick question, do you have to leave the 3DS open whilst you download/update?
No, if you close the lid it will keep downloading (with the screen and sound turned off) and go to sleep automatically when the download is done. Nice touch if the download is coming slowly.

I didn't think the Snake Eater 3d was that good either until I turned my slider down to about 60%. Then it all just clicked for me and looked super smooth. Still disappointed they decided to straight port rather than naked sample it up, but I guess it wouldn't be out this year if they did that :(

I could see the 3D effect very well in all the trailers, but the Ocarina of Time was very strong... I couldn't handle the effect very well with that trailer.

Also... did you guys see the AR cards thingy at the end of Kid Icaru's trailer?

I thing this was just a psychological thing... if I recall correctly, 3D videos are only 3D On and 3D Off...

I could be wrong thought.
