3DS and Vita are doomed. Neo Geo Pocket returns!

why the Nooooo - the AES/MVS library is spectacular and has a long history of delivering. The issue is , i guess, that these titles are available elsewhere.

Nifty looking machine though.

I would like three things:
1) a slim replacement for my NGPC (and its broken battery cover) that doesn't use AAs.
2) a way to play "Capcom vs SNK Match of the Millennium" on-the-go without some kind of hacked or homebrewed solution
3) a clicky d-pad dealy

Is that so much to ask? Is that so wrong?

(Maybe NGP/C support will be a firmware-added feature?)

I like the design. For some reason, it gives me retro vibes as well as being shiny and glossy.

I feel like this device is getting more excitement than downloadable MVS/AES games would get on the Vita, 3DS, or something. :p

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo hot.

Though when I saw the title, I thought it would be Neo Geo Pocket Color games. Is this device just gonna play the games listed, or will more games be added?

I really want to play some Neo Geo Pocket Color games on this thing.

I was getting ready to go to bed until I saw this thread. Gave me a 2nd wind like you wouldn't believe! Holy Shiznits! O_O

NGP! NNGP?! I loved the original and now this one must be mine too!

PS. Seems everyone got the Camo Blue model too? ^_-

looks sleek, buy looks bad.

basically its the Vita. Gonna need to see a $99 price tag some more buttons on the front. and most importantly a redesign. I see some serious wtfuck's on that thing.
Also, this is a surprise. Guess a Dreamcast 2 wouldn't be impossible after all. Left Field for the win!

The analog stick is in a bad position being at the top. Try using a trigger button and having a finger on the analog at the same time, plus it would off balance the device that way.
Hold your iPhone and imagine the analog on top, how does that feel?

I'm irrationally excited about this and holding out hope that the software lineup isn't limited to that list. The exact moment I fell completely in love with the Neo Geo was when I first saw Samurai Shodown, so I don't care that much about a lot of the first-gen games.

Also now that the Vita is called the Vita I guess SNK can take back the NGP name?? I'm probably like the eighth dude to make this joke.

Would rather have the neo pocket games. Much more fun on the go. Port those games to this thing, or the vita, and then we'd be in business.

Amazing. I hardly believe it, but if this thing turns out to be the real deal I'm gonna be in love.

Nothing stopping NGPC games from showing up on here either! I've always wondered why none of them have ever been re-released on any VC type systems.

My thoughts on the shoulder buttons (aside from support of other systems/games) is that they may be programmable like A+B+C or A+C, B+D etc.

I hope the emulation quality is in line with Neo Geo Station on PSN.

This might sound weird, but I'm only really up for this if they include NGPC games. NGPC games are better on a handheld.

Also, this still seems fake to me. The logo is off, for starters, and I'm not sure what the L2/R2 buttons would be used for.

Finally the screen aspect ratio in the photos is about 1.73:1 (238/137), not 1.333:1 (4/3). Basically it's widescreen.

It'll be interesting to see how it pans out.

hope this really comes out. A handheld neo geo sounds awesome. Then I assume somebody will get mame on there eventually.

I want an android device like this' with buttons.
