Could also be that customers are trained to look for widescreen and see 4:3 electronics as cheap, so this is a lazy way of combating that.

Emulating a 12Mhz Motorola 68000 isn't exactly rocket surgery. Flaws in the mockup aside, the whole idea isn't far-fetched at all. But I'm expecting it'll be limited to the listed games because they're relatively early titles without big RAM requirements or lots of raster effects.

The Neo Geo is incredibly easy to emulate since the hardware was so straightforward. Heck, the Nintendo DS can emulate the Neo Geo at near full speed and due to a clever paging scheme it manages to run big ROMs several times larger than the DS RAM.

That's a bit unrelated, I think. The (official) Neo-Geo Stick 2 for the Wii also has a SNK logo. Not a single mention of Playmore on the hardware.
