3DS Circle Pad Pro - Gamestop Exclusive

The circle pad being sold by one retailer only shows Nintendo's commitment to the optional add-on. Only fools thought it would be needed for future titles. And people expecting a redesign with a second circle pad are going to be in for a rude awakening.

I'll wait for the circle pad pro redesign.

You see what I did there?

Actually, I do hope Nyko or someone will get onto a circlepad pro/battery pack.

But then I think about it.... 3rd party controllers...

Fucking catch 22 here.

Seems pretty smart when there's only five games that support the thing. Only one has been announced for NA, at that.

Do what? Resident Evil Revelations, Metal Gear Solid 3, and Ace Combat (already out) have all been announced for NA. I'm not sure if KH3D has been officially announced for NA but it's definitely coming.

I just fixed myself on that, but you caught me :/. KH3D is inevitable here too, but it hardly seems like a smart move to push it out to so many retailers when it's an afterthought and less than 5% of the software makes any use of it.

Is everyone really that stupid to think that there's gonna be a dual analogue redesign because of this stick? It's like not buying extra Wiimotes because they're waiting for a redesign that'll be a classic controller too.

It's an optional add on that will only be used in rare situations. Making it exclusive to one retailer only solidifies that.

A problem I see with the 3DS redesign expectation is that the 3DS is already small and crammed with internals. Nintendo doesn't like to redesign the primary product unless they can make it MORE streamlined and sleek, not less. Right now, the only way to cram a built in 2nd slide pad is to make the 3DS bigger or more awkward to hold.

I could see 2nd analog being incorporated into a 3DS XL in a couple of years, once 3D screens are a lot cheaper and have a wider viewing angle to make a big screen workable. But reason and Nintendo's past behavior suggests that the primary 3DS is not going to get a redesign, or one with a 2nd analog built in, any time soon.

They've got to be making money off the thing. Doesn't make sense to me that it's exclusive to just one retailer.

Might be a similar case to Xenoblade where Gamestop agreed to foot the cost of the thing after NoA passed it up for a wider release. If it doesn't sell, no money gets made. With how cheap it is, I can't see it having much of a profit margin either.

DSiXL says hey. Bigger and less awkward go hand in hand for me.

$20 by itself?
I wasn't going to, but now I guess i'm going to buy RE:Revelations bundled with it even though i'm horrible at RE games from Amazon.

Awww fuck, Amazon raised it to $50.

This is what I hope happens.

I'd rather a handheld with a more ergonomical back and feels more like a controller to hold. I've found the DS, 3DS and PSP very uncomfortable. Functionality is more important than style, especially when they want to promote more intense, hardcore games.

Looking at the speed and control fidelity needed for Kid Icarus, my hand's already feel cramped just watching gameplay videos. How can they expect intense multiplayer?

Is it going to be bundled? I thought Capcom last said they aren't bundling it in North America, only Europe.

So yeah as of right now unless Capcom changed their minds, its $50 for just the game.

Well there's a Gamestop on every corner so it shouldn't be hard to get one.

That pad doesn't look comfortable to play with, I'll wait for the rev-**

It's not bundled in America. RE:R is $50 for just the game (but I preordered it for $37 ^_^)

A-fucking-men.

Now i'm quadruple-saddened because not only was I delusional in thinking we'd get a bundle, but that to play RE:R with the CPP will cost $70.

:(

$20 is a bit much for what is essentially a plastic shell. Doesn't come with rumble, accelerometer, or even its own battery... no way it has the right to be priced at the level of the Nunchuk (which is similarly overpriced, but at least has an accelerometer.)

I never thought this accessory was gonna go anywhere but making it a Gamestop exclusive was a bit unexpected. I wasn't really planning on buying it any time soon anyway.

Maybe the people most likely to use Club Nintendo and voice their opinion also put that they purchase and hear about games and accessories from game specialty stores.

This makes me sad.

As a current 3DS owner who laments not having proper controls, I was hoping for a redesign too.

=(
