This is the one I was referring to, I can't conceive a 3DS without it. In this test, 3DS equipped with it would last over 5 hours.![]()

Less than 3 hour battery life on a 3DS makes me want to never buy one.

I doubt you'd get 10 hours of battery life on an iPad playing a game with the fidelity of your average 3DS/Vita title.
Maybe, but then you'd have to balance it by disabling Vita features and throttling power lol
Epic Citadel stress test was what, 3 hours?
But you can't disable Vita features and throttle power, except the Wifi, which they did disable on all of the systems.
Basically, on a portable device, the things you can do that can affect battery life are:
- Change brightness
- Toggle Wifi/3G
- Change sound output / volume output
- (3DS: Turn on/off 3D)
The best comparison would test all of these factors, but if that's not possible, the ideal thing to do would be to do two comparisons; minimum battery (3D on for 3DS, Wifi on for all, Max brightness, etc) and maximum battery (3D off for 3DS, Wifi off for all, Min brightness, etc)
I'm getting fucking tired of the 3ds battery. Playing Mario kart 3d online, plugged in. Unplugged and sleep for the night but I guess WiFi stayed on, next night the shit was flashing red and I hadn't touched it all damn day.

Cool, then 3DS should leave 3D mode on because Vita have very high pixel counts.Eh? You assume wrong.

Can't be replaced easily, specially with something bigger. Ala PSP and 3DS.Vita battery is removable.

This puts the Vita roughly on par with the iPhone 4S for gaming in my anecdotal experience. Actually a bit above truth be told. I can easily kill a full phone on Infinity Blade in 3-3.5 hours.
There's the fact that you actually CAN do that on the 3DS and can't on the VITA.Maybe, but then you'd have to balance it by disabling features and throttling power on the Vita lol. The point is to compare the systems as they would be used.
Seriously, the iPad battery is fucking king.

One of the systems can't do Uncharted either.
Wouldn't a better test be without 3D, since one of the systems can't do that.
You know what he meansOne of the systems can't do Mario games either.
Except that playing games on the thing results in battery times right in line with the 3DS and Vita.
Tried what?You tried?

Vita battery is indeed user replaceable. Just unscrew two screws and you have easy access to the battery. It's on its manual.

Vita battery.
When I play Game Dev story I get like two hours on my iPhone 4. These people crowing about the battery in iDevices seem to be missing this fact!
Cool ! I suspect third parties will release portable/clip-on Vita battery pack that plugs into the accessory port too.
