4 months later, still no Cyberpunk

Hate to say it but it's just still not there even on PC but I'm beginning to think I just don't like the game.

This is me. I just don't enjoy -
  • janky controls on console, just like Witcher III
  • picking everything little thing up is total pain, just like Witcher III
  • length of "in game cutscenes" feel like they're the actual game, too much hand holding and lack of control/action
  • literal crashes and bugs making the game unplayable
  • a skill tree and menu system that is for shit and just plain annoying to use
  • quests progress/menu/tracking is straight up broken as is the redemption system
  • missed next gen console launches by a wide margin of in game support
  • no cross save between xbox and PC, why do I have to buy it twice or not have a simple upgrade option etc for $5-10?
I so wanted to love Cyberpunk, the premise and immersion is brilliant but so much else in the game is fubar. It's just not worth my time and continues to be shelved in my game roster.

At this point I am thinking that they are making Witcher 4 to save their face.
I do not think it would be wise and frankly we should reward devs who fix their shit not companies that move on and sell you something new to "make up" for what they sold you before and di not properly support...CP2077 will be fixed, it is irresponsible of them to do otherwise.

Does it have a lot of crap? Sure.

Is it still one of the best games recently? Definitely.

The hate for this game is so out of proportion. Its as if the game is ubijunk or worse. Even those dont get the hate this game does. I understand the expectations some people had were through the roof, but lets try to be objective in the criticism.

I am sure cdpr can turn this around. Just rework the UI and broken systems and release a hearts of Stone level expension in a few months and everyone will be back on board except maybe for some bitter haters.

The way cyberpunk is structered, you cant fix it without pouring endless resources into it. As someone said earlier in this thread; it might take 2 years. The damage is already done.

Finished it on PS5 and sold it and I have no desire to buy it/play it again.

At first it was the constant crashing then the bugs then the game itself. It feels like there was an internal struggle to what this game should be. Making fun of previous AssCreed game? This is a map filled with mission consists of go there shoot everyone. Then why don't you do the side stuff then? Well, I did but with how the game plot of go go go we have no time and you getting reminded of this in every chance, it is hard to enjoy those too.

I think it is worth then taking their time and progressively delivering THE proper fixed experience: it does not have to be a single patch.

The damage can be undone, see No Man's Sky as one example, but then the dev learned sooner to stop talking nonsense out their head down and improve the game (for free).

As GTA V has shown, a game can have very very long legs and a proper CP2077 Online component can ride on top of a proper CP2077 base game. Plus tarnishing the reputation of the Studio and adding even more risk to the Witcher 4 release seems stupid.

I'm short on cdpr stock since launch. Marcin I told you what to do. Fuck the crybabies don't fix anything Bethesda/EA style.
Everyone is still buying starfield and mass effect it doesn't matter you can treat gamers like shit it's fine.

To be honest the problems are not only that the game was overhyped and for some underdelivered quite a bit (looked more like smoke and mirrors than the emergent gameplay monster they were hyped for), on top of the problems, but that CDPR was a bit dishonest about the state of the game and their platform support and was caught with their hands in the cookie jar (it was not an accident that they were controlling the footage/versions reviewers could use and show).

Agreed, they messed up on this part. But i think you could agree as well their refund policy has been quite unprecedented and generous no?

Cyberwank 2069, They made up the cyber attk so they could delay the updates. Its not like they got their shit stolen before release like what happened to valve back in the day.

Not generous no, but proper yes... generous, I would not go that far. This was intentional on their part and there is the feeling that they really waited out until the last possible moment to do so...

I played it just yesterday, 4K, RT Ultra preset, did first hour of Street Kid. It is still mindblowing how lifelike and movielike it is in its presentation, no other game comes close.

But, after 180 hours in it, I really want expansions to come out before starting the second playthrough for real. But it still pulls me in from time to time to just enjoy its world and atmosphere.

I wonder if retards like yourself are born or raised.

Proper but not generous? You mean giving people their money back AFTER finishing the game and in the case of physical owners letting them keep the game after giving them their money back is not generous? In what world do you live in?
Tell me how many developers did that. No one and Certainly not EA or Bethesda and I don't see anyone hating them 24/7 like they do with CDPR

Playing the game on PC, after trying it out on PS4 and getting a refund.
The world just feels empty. The few NPC's that are on screen, don't react to your actions or the world like they do in gta 4/5. Police just spawn behind you. Car controls like ass. Still 4 months in, I encounter characters in T-pose. It feels like an alpha and something that has been in development for 2-3 years.
I suspect they had a massive reset/overhaul of the whole game a few years ago, putting them into this position they're in.

Nobody spent 7 years, people really like to inflate the time that went into this game to make it sound more dramatic. The proper work time was only 4 years. But with at least one reboot during development, i doubt the version we got had more than a year and a half of work.

W3 released one year later after CP2077 teaser showed. They got another year to focus on 2 DLC. Someone was on the project because like any other developer they dont put everyone on a single game.

You are making it sound like everyone knew its 18 months of actual development. So what did they do 3 years before that? Release tiny patches for W3? Really? Thats no excuse why the game ended up shit. Rebooted? So what it doesnt count as development what they did till that time? Please leta not start giving excuses for this turd after amazing W3. They fucked up royally, im sure half the staff are already thinking of leaving, they got 2 major lawsuits waiting. SONY doesnt give 2Fs to put them back on the store. Tell me, which other game screwed so bad? Anthem was crap but they at least kept ot alive. CP2077 literally fell into obscurity after only 3 months.

All I know is I'm banking on the idea of my limited edition console becoming a rare collectors item because of the controversy.

Marvelous experience.

Despite its shortcomings the game has more soul & character than nearly the entirety of the rest of AAA landscape. The worldbuilding is just next level at this point

Can't wait for what comes next

Honestly, it's not worth it.

Wait for the finished game, plenty of other things out there that are more worth your time that you could play in the meantime.

It's cute that there are CDPR/cyberpunk shill accounts here as well now.

Others being worse does not make you a saint... especially ones that were caught with their paints down trying to hide the problems and prop pre-orders of versions they knew full well had problems but they did not want customers to see. Others alleged, CDPR caught.

It's tough, but Sony has at least sent a very strong message with their decision to remove it from the store for this long. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot more games are now delayed, or thrown on PC as "early access" for the first 6 months until the console versions are down pat. As someone who plays a game once then moves on, I'm grateful for this change in mindset. I lost so many hours on Cyberpunk due to game-breaking bugs that it really dampened my experience with it.

Think of the positives that will come from all this.
CDPR should have learned to:
- Don't promise refunds from another company without talking to them first or they will block your sales until they are satisfied that you have suffered enough (and might even take legal action)
- Seriously improve their network security
- Don't announce release dates until you are really sure you can meet them
- Don't lie to investors, they really don't like that! (more legal actions...)
- Don't treat your developers like expendable slaves.

But if they do exactly the same mistakes next time, I won't be really surprised anyway...

I can't believe it's been 3 months and we still can't play Cyberpunk. This has to be the biggest disaster in gaming history. Playstation owners can't play it, and those who can play it on other platforms have quickly forgot about it.

?? You can play it since day 1. It has been smooth sailing on PC since release day. Playstation version sure have bugs but they are greatly overstated i have 5-6 friends who played it on base ps4 and none of them complained. They all finished it 1-3 times.

Bugs sure there are some but those are mostly graphical ones not gameplay.

I'm waiting for 1.2 to play on PC. I think that is a reasonable state to get the best experience before I lose gaming time to good weather.

Nope.

If you have a PS5 it's easily playable, the game is actually really good despite what I heard on here and the only thing preventing me playing is I want to play the Next-Gen version cuz I can see good it will be.
But it does keep pulling me back, even just for a mission or to mess around.

In 50yrs there will be a documentary about it on the History channel called "The greatest disaster in the history of Humanity".
