Does anyone else's PS4 make a soft chirp sound right as it goes into standby mode?
Possibly hard drive chirp? Can you locate the source of the sound on the chassis with your ear?

So uh... who else thought OP was talking about the reliability of the PS4 after being on for 4 months?

No, but have crazy stress tests of the 8G consoles happened yet? That sort of thing was fairly common in the 7th gen, ie running the PS360 in cabinets for weeks on end or something. That should happen again. And for gods sakes the publication should include the Wii U, that didn't even get the heat vision test that the PS4 and One got.
Sent in my launch system because of the infinite eject loop. Pretty sure they sent me a new one
Launch system here, and it appears to be fine. It survived the Australian 40+ degree heat here in the Summer, which is nice to see.
I think I can see the beginnings of wear on the grips of the analog sticks of the controller, but I guess that's to be expected (although I haven't used the controller excessively...).
One of my PS4 in my guest room has been on standby mode since Nov.
It is still alive.
Serious question, should I turn off that console?
Standby mode sounds great in theory, but that PS4 is collecting dusts.
Mine ejects discs randomly
i heard that there are some fixes for this, try youtube.

I always hear a small click, I just assumed that was the same reason my TV and Amp do it.

Bought one 3 weeks ago. It died within 48hrs. I was trying out Final Fantasy when it shut itself down and wouldn't start up again. The replacement has been fine so far. I'm not sure about the durability of the controller. I have big shovel hands and it feels kind of flimsy to me.
