I'm pretty sure that's because he attacks from the shadows, right? It said somewhere on screen it was a "sneak attack" so I assume the enemy takes some time to realize you're there.

That said, ugh at the combat animations. That dude in the cave was scooting around and facing the wrong way and all kinds of wonky shit.

That alone almost made me not want this game. Then again I hate 1st person for a game like this and that's the way I'll be playing it

Yeah it was a sneak attack, but like that example, the AI in Oblivion used to just ignore their mates being slaughtered as long as you were hidden. Not that I'm complaining, it was great fun being able to clear a whole dungeon without being seen.

The AI / Animation on some of the characters looked all sorts of fucked up. People scooting backwards and just sliding along the ground.

The combat also looked janky and just not all that enjoyable. Half the time I couldn't tell if he was actually hitting something or not, Especially against the dragons, Just felt like "what the fuck is going on here".

It was never a day 1 purchase for me as I never did get into oblivion or even fallout 3. It at least looked better in motion than those shitty screen shots they keep releasing.

That first AI encounter reminded me exactly of the AI in NewVegas. The animation, the sidestepping, the switch to melee and charging.

Holy shit at those 360 graphics! It seems the crowd wanted PC version though, lol, and yeah they were pretty annoying especially during the town part.

If the Xbox 360 version looks like that with no framerate issues then the PC version will melt faces.
