For some reason I lurked for like 3 years before I decided to sign up. Took a good 4-5 months to get approved... wish I signed up earlier :P

Coming up on 5 years for me, wow. Feels like just yesterday I was stupidly and ignorantly e-mailing the admins begging them to activate my account. I was an IGN regular for the 6 years previous...

I'm only a few months away from the five year mark.
I remember that when I came here that Amir0x had a tag that said something like "official supporter of the Wii". I was so confused :(
 
I found this place after reading some article. After browsing the forum for a few minutes I signed up in order to answer some dude's question. I thought the sign up process was broken because I didn't get a confirmation email. I looked for a couple of days and nobody ever did answer his question. Imagine my surprise six months later when I got a confirmation email.

maharg is the sysadmin. sp0rsk is the lowest ID non-mod account, Azih is the lowest ID never-been-a-mod account.

Naturally, though, all the user IDs got reset with this incarnation of the site, so basically anyone with a 2004 registration date is probably a user held over from one of the previous incarnations.

Damn. This thread makes me feel old. Been here since '98/'99. I still remember Deadmeat's Super Kyo (sp?) thread, the Opa/Che meeting regarding the PS2, Opa's meltdown after Sega collapsed, Futami's trolls, etc...

good times. gaf is one of my favorite place on the internet, too. i love it here. this is going to sound nuts, but i feel as if since starting to post here and taking part in active discussions, my way of thinking has grown more rich and i've carried that complexity of discussion out into the real world.

i wuv you gaf.

Been here ages. Love this place and the odd mix of gaming/non-gaming. Just two forums but somehow it works.

I seriously think if I won the lottery I'd donate a lump to Evilore. And probably a couple of charities I guess

No. If you remembered Opa Opa's ascent to 10,000 post and subsequent banning then...maybe. IF you remember Dominus Defunctorum's ill conceived arguing, then yes.

I remember Dominus, or at least the times he was either Maturin, Terrapin, or one of the other trolls :P

This prompted me to check my profile, and I've been here since 12/25/2005. Wow, about 5.5 years. I had no idea.

I'm probably about the same. I can't say for sure. I used to post at forums where we more or less considered Gaming Age the 4chan of our world. You know, high society like the Dreamcast Tech Pages.

:lol. yeah, as long as i've been here i've seen you posting. anyone remember how "cool" it was to be able to post in the IGN insider boards? where you personally had to be selected by Matt C after being recommended by at least (iirc) 3 members of the board? haha.
 
Always interesting to see that some people had to wait years to get approved. I cant' even remember when I started posting here. Also used to run on the IGN boards, too, back in the old days.
 
Congrats, OnkelC! Today is a momentous day for me as well. Almost a full year of waiting and I'm finally a junior!
