Just to let you guys know there will be a lot more snes next week!

Very nice as I was a bit disappointed reading how it's only 1 hour long.

If it's anything like the NES one, this will be incredible.

Really wish you guys would get together for retro podcasts more often as I enjoy them so much more than any of the current gen podcasts out there...

:(

Same here, but luckily the direct link works (everything else is blocked).

Thanks as always for the thread LiK!

Edit: And more 8-4 next week! And more and more and more! :D

Also, having no butt has got to be worse than having a big butt. Because when you have 0 butts, sitting HURTS. All the time. Sitting on a comfy desk chair. Sitting on a couch. Just thinking about sitting on something made of wood or metal makes me cringe. Stupid pokey butt bones.

This is what happened to me. Ugh, and the iTunes store on my iPod always takes hours longer to update.
You guys should be using podcast apps, not iTunes. I can heartily recommend Podcaster (what I use, but only because I've been with it since day 1), Downcast, or Instacast. Never worry about syncing and download over 3G with no restrictions. When a new podcast comes out, hit refresh! Or refresh on a schedule! Or manually! They have better playback controls, and basically better everything. Also, subscribe directly to the RSS of a podcast rather than iTunes if you can. You'll get stuff faster. And yes, I realize I was being presumptuous assuming you're both syncing with iTunes and that's where the delay is coming in! If I'm wrong, apologies, but hopefully this changes the ways of someone else in this thread if they're yearning for instant 8-4 gratification.

Very much looking forward to listen to this one. The SNES holds a dear place in my heart, for being the system that made me a gamer.

I have like 5 months of 8-4 play to catch up on. May as well start with a sure-to-be-awesome episode.

What does it say when even my gaming podcast backlog has grown massive?

Enjoyed the hell out of the first SNES segment. Kevin Gifford is always oddly entertaining and dropped some knowledge bombs.

I find it odd that the last time john was blown away by the capabilities of a console was with the Super Famicom.

Geez when I saw screenshots of MGS 2 for ps2 and played the demo on my newly bought ps2, I knew what I wanted to do. The Animation, the mocap(the 60 fps did help make it even cooler) My mind was blown.

That's the reason why I do what I do.

That intro music brings back some memories of hanging with my cousins playing that game all day long. Oh, to be a kid again...

Their SMW discussion made me Super Nestalgic.

had to do it, sorry

but seriously, why the f can't I play this game on the 3DS ;_;

Gifford: "Sega was not very good at consumer hardware sales from the start, basically.....Bwahahaha"
For some reason I freaking lost it here

. I actually played that part like 4 times, and laughed my ass off every time. Definitely, one of the greatest moments of 8-4 Play.

Amazing casting guys. K. Gifford is crazy with all that knowledge he dropped. Can't wait for part 2. And more importantly, can't wait for the inevitable console wars episode.
