Ultima Online - Stones,

A simple but very memorable song, brings back so many memories.

Blade Runner - Blade Runner Blues

This is cheating probably, because it's a song from the movie as well but if that's not one of the BEST ambient scores of all time I don't know what is.

The movie version was a lot more clean/not as low quality,

Good shit right here son.

Mark Morgan is the man too. Fallout 1/2, Planescape, Zork Nemesis/Grand Inquisitor..

Much as I love me some Thunder Force music, they're not PC games, are they?

(I mean, I guess Thunder Force II was a Sharp X68000 game, and that was a personal computer, but pretty sure the thread meant IBM PC compatibles, Windows 95/98, that sorta thing.)

Wow! You guys made a thread about me.

Some of my favorites...

Mechwarrior 2 - Arkham Bridge
I went something like fifteen years without playing this game but I've never once forgotten about this song. It kind of sucks that the mission it goes with is so easy; it's over so quickly. The whole soundtrack is good though.

Heroes of Might and Magic 2 has one of those soundtracks that's so good that it makes you stop playing the game to listen. One of the best, for real.

Hard to pick just one, so here's a few:
City of the Barbarian
Combat 3

Heroes III had some great music as well.
Combat IV

Barely under the wire, but here's one from Unreal Tournament that includes a snippet of easily the most famous track to come out of Unreal:

Low hanging fruit, but this one always comes to mind:

The Diablo 2 version of this is better. It's mostly the same thing, but there's an ending in the style of Diablo 2's music. Technically outside of the scope of this thread, though.
