Chris Hemsworth, 32, and his wife, Elsa Pataky, 39, may have started the New Year on the wrong note. While celebrating 2016 down under, the Australian star of Thor decided to dress up as a Native American, leaving many fans tore into him for being culturally insensitive.

Was surprised when I saw this featured on the aus televised national news
.

Edit, sorry link is banned here, will update shortly

Could have turned out worse. He could have gone as Heimdall.

Dressing up for a theme party is offensive now?

It can be. Depends on the costume. Of course you can make anything sound ridiculous if you generalize it enough.

"Oh so just saying a word is offensive now?"

It can be. Depends on the word.

I'm offended you would even think this

How am I not surprised. People get offended for everything nowadays.

Nothing says "party" quite like mockingly dressing up as the race of people your ancestors nearly eradicated.

Guess no one should have costume parties since someone will end up getting offended one way or another.

I 100% agree, it's 2016. Stop being offended by everything. It's getting old.

Come on, unless he's doing the stereotypical Indian dancing and hollering, it's not offensive.

Being normal people?

Impressive turn out for this defense force.

Can we make Outrage Culture a 2015 thing?

"Remember when we got mad about every little thing? That was so 2015!"

New Years Resolution? Perhaps we can save our outrage for corporations and politicians that are really fucking up life for millions of people instead of hate-tweeting into the void?

What should the people who get angry at people getting angry aspire to

Love this blanket statement that's completely void of the context of what the theme was. Are you also okay with Slavery theme parties where white people dress as blacks in chains? If you think that's okay then you need to do some learning. If you don't think it's okay then you should understand why people would be upset about a the theme in the topic.

I don't know, you seem okay with keeping it alive into 2016.

They used like 2 tweets from people that have never even been retweeted.
