Anyone know if theaters let kids under 18 into R rated movies? Hoping I dont find obnoxious kids while watching Mad Max.
I believe any kid can be in any R rated movie as long as the parent or legal guardian is with them.

"Victim blaming."
It's a fucking movie.
Oh, a child talked too much and a man laughed at things that weren't funny to me while I saw a comic book film for the second time. My delicate sensibilities! I am a victim.
I have diagnosed social anxiety and I struggle to see how many of you function in the world daily?
The reinforcement of anti-social behaviors within these spaces is fucking terrible. You're in a giant room with a bunch of human beings and yet want to feel as if you are alone. with anything less seen as offense.
This uniform and agreed upon isolation is one of the biggest head-scratchers of my life. It certainly made more sense when the cinema was the only place to see films and other productions, but today it feels silly to see complains about children talking or couples discussing among themselves.
In the era of watching a film on hundreds of different devices in virtually any place on earth, a movie theater should be a social experience where people should allowed to talk among themselves and children should absolutely be able to get lost in the awe of a film and ask questions and learn as it is happening.
Of course, many of you may disagree and that is fine. I think there should be theaters for people those that want to be disconnected from others, where everyone wears headphones and those that make noise at all are removed without refund.
it's not because at the start of every movie in the theaters it's tell you to keep quiet and turn off your phones. You can talk before and after the movie like everyone else but not during the movie.Everything in this post is correct.
well it is a kids movie
I don't get it, is this some sort of subtle criticism of the movie?
Thats not the point. Parents take their kids to any movie no matter what type of film it happens to be.kids are going to go to kid's movies
Maybe doesn't belong here but can you explain this pass you have? Theres something close to that in the US for a monthly fee but you can only see each movie once. How much do you pay to that a month/year? I'd kill for something like that where I can see movies multiple times lol
well it is a kids movie
Hahaha that's brilliant!Funniest instance of little kids in a movie was when me and a few family members went to see The Dark Knight. The Joker's magic trick cause a kid to start crying. Hilarious and beyond annoying at the same time.
Why would you squander superior surround sound for shitty headphone stereo?I'd love a pair of headphones (or even a jack and I'll bring my own).
Do any cinemas in the world do that?
Thankfully, it's not.a movie theater should be a social experience
The kid that had to be 10-ish talking through Django Unchained took the cake for me.
Since then the theater I frequent will not allow kids under 10 into R-rated movies.
Doesn't help for PG-13 movies like Avengers but helps. Last week at F&F 7 (not many people in the theater), moved down half a row because two teens kept sending and getting texts during the movie.
There are over-18s only screenings for movies here in UK (Odeon, VUE), that are for any kind of movie regardless of rating (Avengers, Fast and Furious 7). That weeds out any possiblity of kids or young teens that would cause unwanted disruptions. It's great.
kids are going to go to kid's movies
I can't wait for the Alamo Drafthouse policies to be instigated in cinemas everywhere. We have this where I live too and people still talk or stay on their phones, despite the increased price and luxury and service. A lot of people just have no respect for others.

The fact that you saw Paul Blart 2 twice questions me your taste in movies.
I am honestly baffled by some of the stories I hear here on NeoGAF regarding Cinema's and various distractions, other people do. Is that Normal in the US?
I go to Cinema every other week, and rarely do I find people talk during film, hear other kids being a distraction or even phones going off. This is UK btw.
