A Link Between Worlds Hero Mode: X4 damage and a hint at the secret feature

Someone on Zelda Universe has completed both modes of ALBW in 44 hours. In addition to revealing the increased damage output, they have stated that they technically haven't 100%'ed the game because "there's still something left to do, which probably will take [them] a while to complete." Thankfully, they have decided to keep this feature as a surprise.

The full account is here. It goes into a bit of detail about how long the game will take, so maybe it'll ease the concerns of those that are a bit worried about the length after reading the thread that was posted earlier.

The thing that popped in my head was an extremely difficult boss rush mode spanning all the 2D Zelda bosses, but I doubt that would take long to complete. Any other ideas at what it could be? No, it's probably not a download of MM3D.
 
4x damage is not useful info if we don't know the base damage.

is it TWW/TP base damage or 2D Zelda base damage?
 
I hope the responses about a hidden ALTTP 3D remake or a MM3D remake aren't serious, no fucking way they would include a full game as a secret in today's world. At most we'd get is a second quest of some sort, or maybe even a huge hint to the next game they're making.

seriously I need to bail out though. Props to that dude for keeping whatever it is a secret. I think it has to do with Majora's Mask and I'm sticking to it!

One guy in the the thread said it was about 1/2 a hearts worth of damage from most common enemies. So thats potentially 2 hearts of damage in hero mode. 3 Heart runs are gonna be hell lmfao.

Also...maybe its not MM3D..but a demo instead!
 
Isnt hero mode supposed to be more difficult?

Edit: Ofcourse is the enemies that does x4 damage. Too early in the morning for me.

It's not clear just by reading the thread that he has a review copy, most people don't read the related articles/threads.

It's a bit annoying being teased either way though.
 
4x damage is basically one or two shot right at the start of the game in many scenarios.

Also keeping in mind you lose rented items upon death and things could get really ugly in a hurry.
 
Kind of off topic, but now that the game has been beaten is there actually a connection to Majora's Mask like they've been teasing? Something other than that mask just sitting there in a shop?

Maybe someone can answer with a spoiler tag?
 
General impressions are this game is good, right? I've been dying for more previews since the Kotaku and USGamer ones.

I am buying this game regardless, I need to know how big a role majora's mask plays in this. MM is my favourite Zelda of all time, come on man

Some new parallel universe is revealed between the child and decline timeline where Lorule is actually Termina or something like that and it will have implications in Zelda Wii U because Zelda WIi U will actually be a conclusion to the Hero of Time story.
 
I'm playing the game right now (not very far yet, only the second dungeon) and I can say that 4x damage will be quite challenging. Most regular enemy hits do half a heart of damage, but there's already been at least one enemy already that does a whole heart of damage before you can even get your first extra Heart Container, which obviously means one-hit deaths for a little while on Hero Mode for those keeping track.

How often you encounter this enemy kind of depends on how much exploring off of the main story path you do at the beginning of the game, but I can think of at least a couple instances where you encounter it on the way to and from required story points before where I am.

Should be fun. :O
 
I'm betting on the Happy Mask Salesman being somewhere in the game, along with a mask sidequest. At the end, the final mask is Majora's Mask. Maybe you steal it, maybe you trade it from Ravio. I dunno. Either way, it ends up in the Mask Salesman's hands.

Thus setting up MM.

LTTP comes after and is in a different universe than MM in the timeline.
