A NeoGAF iPhone Web App

Is there any way to use the webapp in Dolphin HD for Android? No matter what I have the user agent set to, it boots me to regular GAF after the index page.
 
Not sure if you have looked into this before, on some other websites I use, the forum remembers your last read post on a particular thread and takes you back there the next time you view the thread. Is there any way of implementing this kind of feature?
 
So, I went to edit a post I made on the buy/sell/trade thread and some of the stuff that was in actual post wasn't there when I went to edit it and when I hit the back button it was still there.

Edit: when doing the same thing from the actual site it worked fine.

Yes. The thing is I was experimenting and I went to the regular site and edited the post on the regular site on my iPod. My point being is if it doesn't take up too much bandwith you can change the length.
 
Thank god. I finally got a real smart phone. Now it's no longer a pain in the ass to browse with that shitty Opera Mini.

And the "jump to bottom" link finally works.
 
Anyone else having issues with some images since the update? About 10% of images are broken (my avatar included).

Edit: Flushed my iPhone history and it's fine. Huh.

I don't think that's the fault of the web app; your avatar image is returning a "Forbidden" error.

It loads ok through the main site, though. And if you click on my profile in the web app.

And it's gone again now. Despite showing fine just before I edited that last post.
 
I've had a problem where I can't send a pm. It says there was no response.

Also noticed while posting this that the Image button doesn't work (just puts two "undefined" instead of tags), and none of the popups for any of the posting buttons quotes/img are working.

Edit: And now those images don't show! Imgur compatibility issue?

I still cant see your or my image.

Edit: I can't see the images you just posted either. WTF?
 
The URLs are correct. The problem lies somewhere between imgur and the iPhone browser. At any rate, the webapp doesn't touch images. It just inlines them like the forum does.

Well, something changed between yesterday and today 'cause I was able to view images posted in threads. I had the problem with avatars yesterday too.
 
Yep, I can't see any image where it's hosted on imgur since yesterday. Everything else loads fine here. I'm on an Android phone by the way.
 
I emailed the guy who runs imgur and he said my server got blacklisted because the domain name made it appear to be a warez site. He apologized and fixed it.

Wow. I somehow just now stumbled upon this magnificent webapp after all these years. It's now a permanent fixture on the homescreen of my HTC Aria.

To the creator, thanks for all your hard work.
 
The inverted colors look good except for spoiler tagged text. Since the text is highlighted black and the background is also black, you can't always tell that there is spoiler tagged text. Can the spoiler tagged text highlight be changed to a different color?

Also dark blue hyperlinks on a black background seem hard to read.

ive got one of the newer big touchscreen blackberrys, forget what its called lol, anyways the webapp works amazingly well on it. thanks.

    Finally, someone asked for there to be an option to include quoted posts directly into the textarea. I'm thinking about this one but personally, I'm for leaving it the way it is. Hopefully the new post screen button behaviors will help this anyway.

  • Yep, that was me.
    The buttons BBC code are a lot better now and it definitely helps (can we also have one for underlining in the future?) but making the quoted text visible in the text area would make it possible to do point by point replies of a long post... Right now you can't do that unfortunately.
    It'd also help in attempting multiquotes and also in not having to click back and forth to see what sentence of the quoted post you should be replying next.

    Btw, awesome app and support as always, thanks! :)
 
Ckohler: Since touching the view forum jumps you from forum to forum, why not make it customizable, or a dropdown?

That way people specify where it jumps (subscribe threads, private, etc)?*



*(because really, who comes to gaf for gaming?)
 
So I was browsing through the Homefront Official Thread that just went up and to my surprise, all images in the multi-post OP, excluding those in subsequent replies, loaded automatically? I have my image settings at "off" to avoid loading unecessary gifs and whatnots. But sometimes there'd be a reply containing new screenshots of a game that I'm interested in and I wish there was a quick yet subtle way of allowing us to display all images in that particular post instead if having to tap on each placeholder link. Tapping on the grey reply header perhaps (specifically the empty space between the post info and quote icon)?

I know what you mean and that happens to me from time to time. Don't know if it's an iOS thing. Seems like it would be.
