A NeoGAF iPhone Web App

I know this has been asked before and I forget the reasons why, but could this app please be modified to activate full screen/iphone mode? I thought it was just a webkit tag so it shouldn't affect other devices?
 
After years of lurking, I finally got approved and I feel compelled to write my first post to thank ckohler for the impressive effort.
Since I got the my first iPhone, I have read NeoGAF almost exclusively there thanks to this 'app'.

So, thank you!!!
 
I used this on my iPhone flawlessly all the time, though strangely enough now on an iPad I can't log in to my account at all. I've logged in and out of the standard site multiple times whilst on iPad and that works fine and I'm definitely not mis-typing anything but I fail to log-in each time when trying to use this.
I skimmed back the last few pages and noticed nobody else had this issue, any idea what it may be?
 
No idea, Jo. At first I was going to say it might be because you have an apostrophe in your username (quotes and single-quotes can be trouble) but you said you logged in on your iPhone fine. There shouldn't be any difference. Just try clearing your cache, I guess.
 
I gotta say I love this app, it makes travelling to work less boring, however there is one improvement I would like, a chance to go straight to the last page of a thread instead of the first.

Recently switched from ios to Android. seems like the App is janky on Android vs buttery smoothness on ios. Anything I can do to improve performance? Thanks!

What phone do you have? Works great for me (Thunderbolt). Regarding smoothness, iOS always had smoother scrolling. Though this webapp, I'm assuming because of its minimalistic nature, is probably the best performing site I've used on Android.

Samsung Infuse.

App performance isn't bad, just a little wonky.

Also, when posting in ios it stayed in-app when posting. In Android it takes me to browser interface to post, despite being logged in.
 
Just wanted to throw out my thanks to ckohler for this site. I'm a front-end developer for a company doing mobile work, and I know just how difficult it is to get a site looking this good across this many devices. Kudos, man.
 
Roughly 90% of the time i visit GAF, I use this app. It's just fantastic.

That isn't normal. You should stay in-app when posting. Check the User Agent or something, that has never happened to me.

If only you could post directly from the app. I dont see why it couldn't though, Cheapassgamer basically uses an app similar to the NeoGAF app except its coded into the site and you can do replies and check your inbox and all that good stuff. Then again, I think they took a lot of time to code that into CAG.

What do you mean, 'post directly'? I post from the secondapps site/web app all the time.

Hmm, I just read the OP and it says you have to be logged into the webapp to reply from the app, or else it creates a new window and logs you into the actual forum. No wonder...I didnt know you could login via the app.




Edit: Just tried it, fuuuuuucckkkk. Mind blown. I'm gonna be posting shit even more now. lol.

Thanks for the app.

Been using for a year and never logged in. One reason is I thought secondapps will steal my passwrd. I dont care any more.
 
This is a tiny thing, but when someone with the name, say, Rezbit, posts, I see their quotes in green.

Also...any possibility of setting it up so it works as an "app" on iOS? I don't see it affecting the other platforms, but would certainly make it a more pleasurable experience on my iPhone/iPad.
 
thank you very much for this webapp, I've been doing like 70% of my gaf browsing/posting from it ever since I got the iphone 4 back in april, it's simply gorgeous looking on retina
 
Just a note to let you know that the NeoGaf app is the very reason I came here and lurked in the first place. The ease of use and format are absolutely top notch. It's hard to believe I've bern reading this site for almost 3 years.
 
Been using this to view the boards ever since I got a smart phone back in March. I thought it was bugged because I couldn't ever log in. Just realized the other day there is in fact a space in my username. Whoops...
