A reminder that Tom Clancy's The Division is supposed to release in 2 [TWO] months

But without Raids.

And with built-in griefing system. Yay!

I'm still kind of looking forward to this game if there's a way to form a co-op squad with my friends and just kind of forget about the rest of the world and just do PvE. But to be honest I want to see at least one hour of gameplay footage (and systems) before I make up my mind on whether I want to get this game or not.

edit: regardless of what this game ends up being, it's definitely not a day one for me. Will wait for reviews and reports on server/connectivity issues/etc.

After playing Watch_Dogs, I think I'm going to hold out for the Division 2. Let them get all the kinks out with the first one, then hopefully it will follow the AC path.

But without Raids.

Best part of Destiny, by far.

Regardless, I'm interested in The Division. I like the RPG(ness), and the rest is just icing on the cake.

Something I can casually play with a few buddies and get some loot? Yup, I'll like it.

Also, I had my doubts on Ubisoft as they pretty much missed the target for most of 2014 and 2015 (though have heard some positive things about AC: Syndicate); however, Rainbow Six Siege is a really good game (when you can connect)...So, there is talent there in some of their studios to make a very tense very competent shooter.

I played the Alpha. I'm fucking hyped for this game. Loved what I played of it and can't wait to play more. Already got my fireteam ready to go. I'll be pissed if it gets delayed.

They made World in Conflict and Ground Control, that doesn't tell me what The Division is supposed to be like.

There is an overwhelming reaction in almost every thread of people referencing a string of Ubisoft Montreal games. These are the games that Ubi is known for, but it is unfair and inaccurate.

They made 2 great games.

One was 16 years ago, the other one 9 years ago.

Now what?

Now they make another great game?

Holy shit, I actually forgot. I can't see it making March. Have heard extremely mixed things from alpha/beta impressions. I do think the game sounds like it has some potential but considering the most we've seen of it at once is the original reveal is very disconcerting.

Also a reminder that Dishonored 2 is slated for Spring LOL

I dont even remember dishonored 2 being mentioned for 2016 tbh

After playing it quite a bit, I'm not concerned. Its a very solid game. Division and Destiny only have one thing in common and it has nothing to do with how the two games play.

Why all the comparison to that bland game.

Please elaborate.

This is a game that I feel like I'm supposed to be interested in, but have no fucking idea what it actually is.

I blame the trailers, too busy jerking off their tech than explaining to me what the game I might be interested in is supposed to actually play like.

Until I see otherwise, I'm just assuming it's third-person cover shooter Destiny.

Bingo. I have no idea what to expect and none of my friends are talking about it. I heard more about Destiny almost two years before it launched but know almost nothing two months before Division is supposed to launch.

I had no idea this was slated for March. I thought it had been delayed given how little we had heard about it. Interested in seeing how his turns out.

Exactly this.

I would probably tune my interest relative to any information spelling out their policy on microtransactions, but you can't even rely upon any pre-launch information about that stuff any more. That and PvP being the driving force behind the hunt for the best loot means I'll probably sit this one out.

Sorry Ubisoft, but Destiny has me grinded out. Won't be playing any loot games for a while.
Loot tied to PvP and then indirectly tied to real money is a shit formula. Will be interested in seeing the Division's specific take on it though, for science.

It always makes me sad that folks dont know who Massive is :(

What do you expect though, really? World in Conflict was almost a decade ago and aside from an expansion and collaborating on other Ubisoft mainstays like Just Dance, Assassin's Creed and Far Cry, they haven't done anything else since then.

I was so stoked for this release when that first trailer came out.

My expectations are a bit more managed now, but if this plays like Destiny with modern-day weapons set in NYC, I'm still excited.

There's no way it's releasing in March, they're just waiting until their financial call to announce the delay so they can go "BUT LOOK FORWARD TO NEXT FISCAL YEAR INSTEAD!!!!"

Same thing for For Honor, which is also hypothetically releasing within the next two months.

Yep.

Its a Ubisoft game.. Rainbow Six also launched with very underwhwlming reception. An alpha a few months before launch and then an open beta.

The problems from closed alpha wasnt fixed in the beta, and in the full game I still hear ppl saying the matchmaking etc is buggy as hell.

I have zero faith in this product, Watch_Dogs also turned out to be a turd.

Now im.not saying all Ubi games are turds, it doesnt look great for The Division ( what is the name even referring to? Division in the populace? )

I don't think you're very well informed, honestly, because Rainbow Six has a great community and launched pretty strongly... lots of changes and updates from the Alpha.

It's stability and matching making was way better at launch than the Beta, too.
A month later after Xmas, it got pretty bad, after a big spike in players and some patches that kind of messed things up, but it's already mostly fixed.

Having played Division Alpha, it was a way better experience than Rainbow Alpha/Beta too.

I can't see it sliping out of the fiscal. Not with rumors of at least 2 big titles hitting this fall.

For better or worse, that games hitting before may.

But without Raids.

you apparently are in the know.....please explain where they said we won't have raids.

It's being compared to destiny and Ubisoft is also siding it as a Destiny style games in their interviews. I'm pretty sure there will be raids....if there isn't, there is no reason for me to buy the game AT ALL.

Best part of Destiny is the raids and there just isn't enough. Hell Destiny for an event should do a shit load of jumping puzzles like in the raids....shit is always fun no matter how many times we do it.

Also...I'm expecting a delay, I mean...... come on we don't even have beta dates yet?

So you haven't played the release version of R6: Siege then.

It's the best R6 a very long time.

IGN INTERVIEW

What does the late-game/end-game content look like? Can we expect raid-type events, a la Destiny?
GERIGHTY: Ever increasing difficulty in encounters and missions are central to the experience but the centerpiece is the Dark Zone where you will be competing at the highest level for the best equipment in the game, not only against the factions but also against other players.

That beta or alpha not long ago was well received by everyone I heard from, but I didnt like it at all. This is one that I am going to skip - unless post release reviews are overwhelming.

A non answer is.....your answer. He still didn't mention anything about it.

they had this two years ago and we have yet to here a yes or a no on the subject

"For retention and the end game, 'group-plus' content will be really important," he said. "I can tell you that there will be multi-group content. I can't get into it too much, but I can say there will be at least eight-player content."

dark zone does not consist of 8 player groups...

What is supposed to be wrong here ? A lot of people got to play it and the reception was mostly positive, the community management is very active, nothing indicates delay, beta still coming very soon... Seriously, what do you expect ? They'll release a trailer and run TV ads when the games launches, reviews will come and eveything, just as usual.

Why would you trust a reviewer over your own opinion? lol

Idk. They said there'd be 8 player end game missions... in 2013. They haven't mentioned it again though, and just having end game missions with a larger player count doesn't necessarily mean Raid. Who knows what's still in it after the delays.

That's pretty much exactly what it is. PvP is in completely separated areas with the Dark Zones. The only other ways I coming across other random players are in social hubs where weapons are disabled. And if you don't have friends that are currently on, there is matchmaking for the major missions that progress the story. They can also be replayed I believe.

The game has been kind of dark since the Alpha. I have a feeling it might be delayed again.

He dodges the question. I mean - he is straight up asked if there are raids and says the Dark Zones are the centrepiece.

Also - from where and when is your quote?

The Alpha actually worked surprisingly well for an open world Ubisoft game, so I don't think it'll have a rocky launch. The only thing I'm concerned about is how much it will sell, they announced it way too early.

shack news 2013

thats my problem is that he didnt mentoin anything. so maybe nda possibly and thats why he only mentions dark zone.

enemies look like bullet sponges as per all the video's ive seen.

But yes , they are seriously bad at giving out decent footage of the game and giving information regarding it as well.

It looks OK honestly. We'll see.

Not a fan of sponges.

Interestingly enough, Ubisoft just uploaded this video today about some kind of ARG/Mini-Game where you scan or type in stuff from real money.

It's only set up for Pounds or Euros though.

But, there's been a decent amount of info released about The Division but it's not getting a big marketing push. It's mostly been blog posts, their podcast and through videos made by Youtubers. I don't know exactly why that is but the impressions from people who played the Alpha doesn't seem to suggest that the game is bad or in a dire state of completion.

Uplay generally turns me off of games I'm slightly interested in, but I've been keeping my eyes on this one since the initial trailer.

Keep in mind those debut visuals are just not possible on console.

Still think the craziest thing is you can turn on your team mates. So you could end up with nothing after doing a mission.

There's no mystery about what this game is. It's 3rd person Destiny in nyc. No raids and a strange dayz like pvp. They had the alpha in Dec and they recently did a podcast so not really silent. Maybe they delay it...who knows?
