Abzu - Gamespot preview (gameplay footage)

the colors look beautiful, environment looks relaxing. is this just going to be a low priced digital game on PS4?

The animation/movement is really nice. Don't know why many games don't care more for it.

Hope Fallout 4 heavily improves in this direction.

Something like this would be a perfect candidate to get people into morpheus.

Looks and sounds awesome.
I loved Journey and will probably end up loving Abzu too.

So glad it will come to PC this time.

I'm surprised by how much it reminds me of Journey. I always knew the similarities would be there, but it actually looks like a full-on spiritual successor. Lovely stuff.

Why? It's an exploration game where you ping things and accumulate drones (which are like the scarf in Journey). What's your problem with the comparison?

What's more, it's directed by Matt Nava, who was the art director of Journey.
Doesn't make sense to avoid the comparison.

Yes. IMO there's nothing that makes a game look more expensive and polished than excellent movement and animation. All the horsepower, resolution, and photorealistic textures in the world cannot make up for shit animation or character movement.

Looks amazingly relaxing.

Main character reminds me of this dude:

Seems like a genuine sequel to Journey, what with there being a chirp echolocation in there and all.

Journey was sand, this is water.

Scuba-diving always excited me. Journey too.
So this is it.

Really interested in this. Love underwater exploration.

Yeah; I find the ocean fascinating and scary. This could be an amazing exploration game, and I hope they have some weird and slightly unnerving stuff under there too, like a crashed spaceship, or Lovecraftian horrors at the bottom of the dark ocean, always teasing and just out of sight.

Journey didn't really have any good exploration though, i always felt pushed forward, and levels where very small.
I hope this will go differently about that.

WHY..........DOES....................IT..............LOOK..............SOOOOOOOOO..............GOOD?!?!

That was also a huge + for many in the Uncharted games (and TLOU). How Nathan touched walls and had little trips while runnning, covering his face when explosions were nearby etc.

Imo Rockstar is also rather good (RDR GTA IV + V) with this. Their graphics are not superrealistic but the way the characters move is well done.
