Ace Attorney 5 [TGS] trailer

Wow, I'm really excited for this! I prefer the forcefulness of the sprite animations, but these 3-D models are far above Layton VS Ace Attorney.

I wasn't a big fan of Ace Attorney Investigations, so I hope this doesn't disappoint. How does Ace Attorney 5 fit chronologically?

Really? Wow. That's some seriously high praise. Well, my excitement for AA5's story has gone up then!

Feels kinda funny to hear this considering the attitude towards the second Edgeworth game by some of Court Records more prominent members. Hopefully Sven's comments aren't misleading in regards to raising AAI2's chances of localization.

Wow those 3D models look great...didnt expect them to pull this off.

And here I just thought that it wouldn't get better. Better get on that train.

Anyway, I hope that they show even a little bit of the old characters. Maya, Pearl, Edgeworth, even Apollo...

And, yeah, lovely design there.

So excite! I still have fondness for the sprites, but the 3D models and animations look pretty good and they're already making good use of the camera. Bring on the dark days of Law!

Oh shit, Bones is working on GS5 as well as PLvsAA!

How is duckroll not here already?!

Damn... That's pretty high praise! T&T is my absolute favorite game in the series, so it will take a lot to surpass that in my mind. I look forward to finishing the next two cases!
Revisiting Shin-san's last case and connecting everything that influenced so much of Edgey's development was really satisfying.

What really puts Edgeworth 2 over T&T for me is that the character development is focused, the trials are relatively no-nonsense, it builds the world around the characters, and the logic behind the cases generally is cleaner and more apparent.

I feel like the first 3 PW games, while good, don't really do tons for its characters and the setting. It's very focused on telling a web of stories. Phoenix in particular doesn't really develop a ton compared to how Edgeworth has since the first game. That's in part why I enjoyed Apollo Justice so much as well.

Oh? They don't like?

Does anyone know if the new girl's name translates to any sort of pun? :B

There is a pun in there, yes. Kidzuki, her last name, also means "awareness" with different kanji of course. Kokone means sound of the heart. Considering her specality is psychology and she has tools to read the emotions of people...

Looking good. Really looking forward to this.

Dang it's feeling good to be a 3DS owner. Finally all the games we have been waiting for are coming out or getting release dates.

Not surprisingly, the game looks really awesome and I'm so excited. The animations looked great.

And there's an anime coming too?! I've always wanted that! The manga was great.

Edit: Oh wait haha Animated cutscenes not anime. Stupid me.

Incredible looking.

Also, has voice acting been confirmed for this game? Because I would hate that, especially coming off from MvC.

Rather have sprite voice than some dub I might not like, which screws with the voices I had in my head when I played the GBA/DS games

Yeah, I agree: the individual stories are longer, but everything feels a little more tightly-crafted. The logic system is helpful in bringing everything together, as well, in terms of the reasoning behind each of the cases.
I guess the thing that got me about T&T in particular is that it finally tied a lot of those separate webs together. Agreed that Wright doesn't develop much over the course of the series, but I guess I never anticipated him to. It will be interesting to see what AA5 does for his character, especially if Eshiro is in charge.

Oh? They don't like?

A lot of people are apparently "disappointed with the direction the series is going in," but I have yet to hear any specific criticism... I'm also not sure how many of them have played the games and how many have just read spoilers online. :/

I don't know if this is good news or bad news, but it seems that the game will not be fully voiced, or at least, the TGS demo had no voices other than the classic Objection, Hold it and the like, according to a Hands-on of the game. I don't mind, personally, but I wonder about the rest of you.

The models look much better here than in Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright, but I guess that's cause Capcom's doing this and not Level 5.

DAMN!!! I am loving the 3DS version of the game. Initially, I was saddened by the removal of the 2D sprites, but the 3D so far retains the same charm as the original game. It is a pity that his new assistant is a new girl, I was hoping that she would be a grown up Pearl Fey or something.

Yeah, the game is leaps and bounds better than the first Edgeworth game. I'd say the only game that comes close to it is Trials and Tribulations but I'd still place Edgeworth 2 higher.

Ouch.

The fact that AAI2 isn't coming here just became even more painful.

Especially since Edgeworth's one of my favorite characters. :(

Good news to me.

Voice overs will never match the ones in my head.

I actually kinda like the sprite speech effect, especially when tense moments make it go slower or faster.

^ I imagine if Bones is doing animated cutscenes, we'll probably get voice acting in some form.

It'll be like Layton v. AA.

They could just be quick little things at the start of the cases (showing part of the crime in action), rather than involving cutscenes of characters talking.
