Cameos of old characters like Oldbag and Larry would be fine, but I will flip my shit as well if any of the old crew return to be major witnesses or defendants in a case. That's one thing that really annoyed me as the series went on, they relied far too much on reoccurring characters and gags instead of creating new ones. It was funny and amusing at first, but it wore its welcome rather fast.

Anyway, the fact they showed so few characters, might mean that there will be many comebacks, so they can keep up the attention of the fans; they will unveil Maya, then a month later Edgeworth, and so on and so worth.

I can understand if any of the old crew returned as witnesses or defendants (which would be unlikely/silly), but it's unrealistic to suggest that the most important people in Phoenix Wright's life would somehow not appear or play a major role in a game with Phoenix Wright as the main character.
Obviously, but I wouldn't consider Wendy Oldbag, Maggey Byrde or Lotta Hart to be family though, Maya and Pearl for sure, along with Trucy and even Larry but if theyre going to create another trilogy out of this, which I would hope they do, they can space out the reunions a bit and maybe reintroduce some other characters from the series and not just blow their load on the first game and make it feel like a retread instead of something new.

Oldbag is the only one I don't want to show up. I saw all 3 in the two AAI games though. Maggey and Lotta had fairly good setups to be in the game but Oldbag was just being oldbag. >=(

I hope this one has more actual thinking puzzle work. I always like the concept of this series, but the gameplay/story never seems to be particularly well designed. A large percentage of the time it's just explicitly obvious stuff. Will keep an eye open though

I want to see Pearl back... I'm curious to see in what kind of person she becomes. After all, she was way too innocent to realize what transpired during her childhood... Now, if she doesn't end traumatized one way or another...
