ACIV PS4 digital version for $40

Ok, managed to fix the issue.

Logged in to my US account (via the PS4). Did the following.

Settings > PSN > Restore Licenses
Settings > PSN > Activate as your Primary PS4

Logged out, logged back in to my UK PSN account, and hey presto, the game now loads and is no longer locked.

If I knew for a fact that the PS4 disc save can be used on the PS4 digital version I may bite. Would like to have this game digitally since it seems I'll be playing it for a while.

I can't fathom that not working. The game is installed to your HDD regardless of whether you use the disc or download it. In theory, the only difference as far as your PS4 is concerned is a brief verification of the disc upon boot (and perhaps intermittently during gameplay). The save file should be agnostic.

I can verify I had no issue doing this exact same thing with BF4. Never say never, but...

In the UK, ordering from Amazon.com with a MasterCard:

"Sorry, processing of this order is taking longer than expected

• This order may take up to 4 hours to process but usually will take less than an hour
• Please do not re-order this item
• Once your order is complete, you can download your purchase here. We will also send the download link to your e-mail address
• For more information, contact us"

Creating a US SEN Account:

"Currently unable to create your account. Please try again later."

Damn, this is more trouble than it's worth!

Fake address and all?

Gah! I can't decide between the PC or PS4 version. On one hand, PS4 is guaranteed to run smooth, but on the other hand my PC is pretty powerful so running it SHOULDN'T be a problem (then again it is Ubisoft..). Is the PC version really that much better? Any suggestions would be appreciated, I wanna jump on this lower price they got going today

I was so annoyed I bought the PC version from them for 35 bucks on Thanksgiving last week. Wonder if customer service will credit me the five bucks.

Bought this then. All done over the web store from the UK. Super simple, super cheap. Considering going all digital - or as much as my HDD allows - because even at $60 I'd be making a killing over the inflated UK prices

Yep! My US account's now been locked by Amazon - turns out this isn't guaranteed to succeed :(

FWIW my credit card is also linked to my UK Amazon account - if anyone's doing this I'd suggest using a different card to the one you have hooked up to your real account just in case.

That probably explains it then. Possibly some sort of fraud protection thing they've built in.

I have the same thing and got the same message when ordering KZ. After an hour I got the download code from Amazon.

Wait so I don't have a PS3 can I still redeem the code? Also, I have 10 dollars credit that came with the system can I use that? I'd rather not put my credit card on PSN.

So didn't this game get 1080p patched in post launch? Is that automatically done or do I need to do something?

Automatic with the regular updates. They didn't even mention it in the patch notes I don't think. Just mentioned various bug fixes, but it's in there.

Looks great now.

Yeah I was gonna say it looks amazing off the bat, but it may come with said patch

So one might remark that the retail pre-order system, as it stands, is in place to effectively lock consumers into high pricing? Interesting.

Not here, I'm definitely banned. I can't log in despite changing my password and have had no sign of a code after a good 4 hours. Chalking this one up to experience! Nothing lost apart from a shot at a good deal on a game I thankfully didn't really want.

I might come back and try again in future ... maybe for Driveclub :)

Have you been charged?

Torn between doing this or just getting it on Steam. Steam also has U-Play, does the PS3/4 version have U-Play annoyances too?

Uplay is in every version, but the console versions have an integrated version for the rewards/unlocks, multiplayer, and second screen gaming

Honestly, enjoying this wayyyyy more than I initially thought. I was a huge AC fan up until Revelations, when my enthusiasm began to wane, got hyped for 3 as a history buff, and was so thoroughly disappointed I basically wrote the series off. Didn't follow it much, picked it up for PS4 out of habit/needing launch games, and have been engrossed. Played it for a few days straight over the holiday, it got it's hooks in good.

Still has some shitty remnants of 3 (I hate a lack of high/low profile, and the running trying to be to clever caused issues still) but it feels fun and open in a way 3 never did.

Hmmm ... I wonder what's going here. Is this just a case of Amazon doing stricter credit card checks or has this something to do with PSN store that already has a very strict credit card fraud prevention policy?

I've been buying digital items (Steam games and ebooks) for almost two years now. Love those US prices. I don't want to jinx that by buying PSN games from the Amazon store if it could mean getting locked out of the regular digital Amazon online store.

Just set this up and attempting my first purchase through US Amazon.

Processing page is taking ages. Is this normal?

EDIT: Saying it needs extra verification and I'll get an email in 4 hours. Am I fucked?

Took a while for me, ~3 or so minutes.

Want to buy Battlefield, but not until they fix the thing. How long do you think it will be at 39.99 for?

The first purchase does take a little bit according to some, my Killzone was delivered in less than an hour though.

No idea on the PSN account. That was smooth for me.

No had the same thing. Took an hour.

Did uk gaffers add cc to the SEN/PSN account and Sony accepted it even though it would say its registered to a US address?

thanks for the heads up. Getting both versions for $40 is not bad (even though I don't plan on playing the PS3 version).

Thanks for the heads up op and thanks to all the people who helped me get this working great way to get round the bullshit uk psn price!

Just been checking out the Amazon digital store.

Selection is a little limited, but I suppose you can just buy $60 worth of PSN credit and grab them off the store itself for any games that don't hit Amazon.

At £36 a game day one I'm more than happy to go full digital this gen, and that's discounting sales like today.

Hopefully there's nothing around the corner to trip us up. Still waiting on my first purchase to confirm with Amazon.

I had to order physical PS3 version due to reward points in Amazon, however I did not know this.

**PS3™ game disc required to play digital version of the game on your PS4™ system.

That stinks :-(. Did not realize that.

I feel like this back door will get boarded up eventually hopefully gmg or amazon uk will hook us up eventually because fuck uk prices right now.

Even if it does get bolted up, hopefully it's just Amazon that does and not the PSN accounts themselves. As long as I can play the games I've already bought on my system under the account I've just set up then I'm happy to go a long for as long as Amazon let us.
