Two time Academy Award winner Olivia de Havilland is still alive. She'll be 95 years old in July. It's just astounding to think that she made her first movie in 1935, 76 years ago. She did a number of great movies: Gone with the Wind, Robin Hood, Captain Blood, The Heiress, Hold Back the Dawn, To Each his Own ...

It will be a sad day when all of those great actors/actresses of the 30ies, 40ies and 50ies will be gone.

Lauren Bacall is still alive (and acting), too.

Also, this was one reason why I liked that Kirk Douglas was presenting at the Academy Awards.

No one can beat Luise Rainer. 101 years old, the oldest still living winner of an Best Actress Academy Award (The Great Ziegfeld, 1936 and The Good Earth, 1937).

Rip.

The only movie of hers I've ever watched was Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf, which is an amazing movie with amazing performances, including Elizabeth Taylor's. It took one movie to realize that the women clearly didn't just skate on her looks.
Gotta watch more of her movies in her honor.

I've actually never seen a movie of hers (I think), but she was so stunning back in the day and fierce until the day she died. Loved how she was a total Golden Age diva even in 2011.

RIP

I am afraid that we will soon lose clint eastwood also, he is also very old :(

Clint isn't going anywhere. His mother died aged 97. Dude could still be kicking around in 20 years, wouldn't surprise me.

Anyhoo RIP Liz.

Not really sad. You expect her to grow senile?
79 yrs is a full life. Celebrate the riches and achievements she's had. Celebrate her life, don't focus on her death

I remember my mom's old tape of Cleopatra and I was mesmerized by her (and those gorgeous eyes). I don't really feel in Hollywood we have actresses that can much up to the legends and greats of the past (but correct me if I'm wrong because I seldom see movies nowadays) I have to go rent Cleopatra tonight.

Wow that was intense.
The whole movie is like that.

It's all in the casting. It wouldn't be nearly as terrifying if the couple wasn't played by a real-life tempestuous couple. They pretty much tear each other to pieces for two hours and I wouldn't be surprised if at least some of it was "real".

Great Elizabeth Taylor scene from Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf:

Yeah, that movie had some fantastic acting. Not only was she a pretty face, she was an excellent actress who toiled hard at her craft. She left an indelible mark on Hollywood.

But my attention was diverted to this lovely clip of her in a bathing suit. Holy shit! Her big, natural wet breasts glittering in the shine of the sun and jiggling as she moves...those poor young lads in the 50s and 60s never had a chance if even I, a modern guy who has been surrounded by overt sexuality his entire life, has time literally stopped when basking in her presence.

RIP to a legend.

RIP. I hadn't really thought about it until seeing it mentioned in an article, but she truly was one of the last stars of her era to die. I wonder how many actors/actresses today will be considered icons in 20-40 years

Perhaps the only "old" movie to give me a boner lol. And one of the more shocking 50s flicks I've ever seen

I get that she's an icon and all, but Liz Taylor barely made a movie during my lifetime. She did a cameo in the live action Flintstones and voiced Maggie Simpson - other than that she was just famous for being famous.

Paris Hilton is famous for being famous. Not the same.

She got real crazy, but damn if she wasn't awesome when she was young:

She's one of those timeless actresses, and the whole world literally watched her grow up in front of their eyes--from a cute-as-a-button child actress, to one of the most beautiful women in the world.

So basically, she's completely different than Emma Watson.

ok guys, sorry it's my fault.
This is creepy.

In June 2009 i wondered aloud with my gf if Farrah Fawcett was still alive.
She died 3 days later.
In Sept 2009 i said something like "is Patrick Swayze still alive ? i remember reading he had 4 weeks at most in february !". He died 2 days later.
The day before yesterday i asked to my GF if Liz Taylor was still alive, she said hell yes, she is. She died less than 24 hrs later.

I think i'll stop wondering about celebs health for a while.

Can you ask your GF if Moammar Gadhafi is still in charge of Libya?

Just sayin'...

The women Micheal Jackson obsessed and wanted to look like, but I cant blame him, she was gorgeous in her younger years. I have yet to see many Hollywood stars come close to looking as good as her or Audrey Hepburn...though Megan Fox comes close. R.I.P

you so crazy

Why would he get banned? Can't talk shit about old ass celebs? I've seen way worse said about dead people on here.

i see he is banned now, and im going to assume it was cause of the comment... anyone know?

i agree with you in a sense, supabrett, in that everyone should be banned for talkign shit about dead people.

the things said about people who die accidental deaths (non-darwin awards) in the pun threads are pretty fucking disgustingly horrible - worse than what was said here

Indeed. He also looks unbelievable for his age. My dad would be devastated if Clint died.
