I think some of you are setting yourself up for a big fall since we know nothing of this "game " or seen some actual gameplay(or even know the details of that).

MGS4, DMC4,Naughty dog jungle game and heck even the old FFXIII trailer with what the gameplay would be like puts Afrika to shame.

Reminds me of that tech-demo of the T-Rex Sony had up & running to showcase the animation & detail of the PS2 prior to launch. This seems like one step up or two....

That trailer blew my mind.

Best graphics yet confirmed!

Anyone else kinda wish they'd make a Steve Irwin tribute game with this engine?

Wasn't the T-Rex a PS1 tech demo?

People are being sarcastic when praising the animation right?

Aside from the running the animation was pretty amazing. The way the animals' ears twitched, the hippos, everything was near perfect except for the running animations, and even those were above standard.

Wow, the screenshots make this game look fairly ugly. As if they have no lighting and low-res textures.

But the video looked friggin' amazing. And up until the cheetah part, I think many people could have expected it to be real (at first glance).

I think most people's expectations for the actual game are on the wary side considering the quirky theme and having little to no background on the studio or game itself. But for a real-time graphic demonstration its completely f*cking gobsmacking.

The video is cool but i don't understand what genere of game is this,it is a "photo/documentary" game,i buy gamespot account for see "TGSLIVE" becouse i think to see DMC4,Tekken6 and more but i see only a photo game,a virtua fighter 5 same as arcade versione and a gundam game i have alreade see in the web screen.. i don't like this sony conference and e3 sony conference, where is the real playstation? O_o

WHAT the FCUK?? Did you WATCH that? The damn animation is almost indistinguishable from live-action documentaries. Are you watching the same thing?

I've got it! You play as a guy in a Jeep Wrangler and your goal is run down as many animals as possible. You get points for every kill or maiming and you get bonuses for stringing together combos and chains based on species.

I like how every suggestion about the gameplay thus far has involved violence to the animals.

Wait, no, I confused the word "like" with "despise."

I seriously doubt there will be any kind of human - on - animal violence in this game.

It looks like a conservation thing. I dunno if it's a game. Would be cool if you could snipe off poachers, though.

"Stay away from my terrortree, mate. " BAM!

The hippo's mouth animation was great, but overall the animals looked like they were on a bad bluescreening. Their movements weren't in line with the eviroment or ground. When they ran it looked like thwy were being pulled along by a string. It was just akward.

Is this your first Afrika thread? If so, try some of the earlier ones. Some non-violent suggestions in those.

Yeah I know, but damn!! This is a first gen game. What will games look like 3 years from now?

Diminishing returns what?

It should, in theory, look like this demo.

I'm impressed by the artistry, but tech wise it isn't anything that special.

I can't stop saying "wow" tonight... this is some impressive shit...

You're telling me. I feel like Sony's unlocked some kind of special technology from the Gods or something. Ze Powah of ZE CELL!

It looks pretty darn good, and definitely makes the "Afrika conclusion" a lot less disapointing. Certainly it's not the most incredible textures or lightning, and some of the animation (specifically feet-to-ground) could use some work. But the scale was very impressive, especially the wilderbeasts. I can see why Sony would want to showcase it now, though I still don't know if it was the best title (because of it's mysterious and vague nature) to conclude with. It's of little consequence though; it was just a keynote.

Man the animation looked 90% close to real-life. When has animation ever looked so good on an animal in a game?

I've never been opposed to 'non-games' when they actually present attractive gameplay mechanisms. If this is a safari/photo game where you have access to vehicles to 'hunt' animals down and things like that, I'm all in.

The Cheetah bit looked off to me, they dont have the sprinting animation quite right yet, and the fur...well there isnt any.

The rest looks amazing but im wondering where the game comes into it, if its some kind of enviroment manager im excited, if its a real life version of pokemon snap im not.
