After the Wii U price cut

I will now most likely buy a Wii U this year, but I'm going to wait and see if the pot gets sweetened at all over the holidays. I was disappointed but not at all surprised that the new bundle involves digital content, which is an absolute deal breaker for me as I have 0 interest in anything digital. I expect any and all deals Nintendo comes up with themselves going forward to involve e-shop crap so I'm going to wait and see what retailers do come Black Friday time.

The price of the console is one part of the equation, the games is another.

Still nothing I want to play on WiiU. :/

I have absolutely no need for the WiiU. I want to like it, but I can't find reasons. With a PC, PS3/4 (SOON) and a Vita, I can't see buying one for even $100.

Not at all. The only game I'm interested for Wii U is X, and that won't be out anytime soon. The current and upcoming lineup for this year is not enough for me to justify a 300 dollar system.

I bought a Wii U at launch an after a pretty lackluster year, $50 was not a good enough price drop. The $300 Wii U and Zelda bundle is.

has shown me nothing worthwhile. I will potenitally buy it when it has enough games that im interested in and the pricepoint is <$150.

Still going to wait for the heavy hitter games, but if there's a crazy Black Friday sale (let's say console + Pikmin + W101 for $300), then I'll jump in early.

Bought one on launch day, waited midnight in line at Best Buy. Ended up selling it because of lack of use and I needed the money for a deposit on my wife and I's first apartment.

Been looking to get one ever since I got rid of it but said only when a price drop would happen. Now with the inclusion of Wind Waker HD, shoot! That practically makes the system $250 in my eyes. Well worth it.

Lets be serious here. It was 350 for deluxe and 300 for regular. Now is 300 for deluxe and regular is gone. So what was the price drop again? Is still 300. With a game included that's it but unless is WW (and that's limited right?), I dont know how it helps

This is how I am seeing it. I want one for $199.99 and I shall wait until 2014 to get it at that price.

Yep. I've never played Wind Waker. The PS4 can wait until next year when Second Son/Destiny drops.

Xbone is probably never. I don't care for Kinect. I don't care for Titanfall. And ever since 343i put out the shitfest that was Halo 4 I've sworn off the franchise.

After the Bayonetta 2 announcement, I knew I was going to get a Wii U at some point. Unfortunately, I'm just not a big Nintendo fan, so I look at the Wii U and see Wonderful 101 now, then Bayonetta 2 some time next year, and I just can't justify it. I'm sure some other things would catch my fancy, but it's just not in 'Buy' territory yet, y'know?

Now, you start talking clearance sales and I'm more interested. I've been impatiently waiting for Dick Smith AU to bring over that crazy sale they did in NZ a few months ago, because I'd absolutely snap up a Basic pack for $150. They had them for $260/$320 a couple of weeks ago, but it just wasn't low enough for me.

I'll pick up the system once it hits $200 or Zelda U comes out, the current slate of games aren't enough for me

I need another price cut and more games. I'm poor, and I would like to see more of Monolith Soft's X.

It's like you've known me my entire life ;)

My chances of getting a Wii U just went up but it will have to wait until after I get my PS4.

Here's the thing. I do not think the value proposition of the wiiU is greater than the ps3. In fact, I think it has less.

Imo. It has to price match the ps3, or cost less, before I even begin to consider it.

Of course yeah. The Wii U. Library was super compelling, and now that I can save 50 dollars, how could I resist?

You have the new Sony and MS systems coming out, but they are so expensive.

I am so excited to pay 100 to 200 dollars less to miss out on COD, Halo, the Witcher 3, and Maddeln/Fifa/NBA......

Gaf's mindset reminds me of this post:

Everyone seemed to want a price cut, and it's here. Everyone wanted more games, and they're coming.

Right now, all Nintendo needs is marketing and perhaps some fix for the gamepad. (either by removing it from the equation or improving its relationship with 3rd parties/developing more things for it)

Everything else is there.

The system still appears barren of content.

Even when Smash Bros comes out, I have to see the slate of third party content coming over the course of 2014. If that's not good I'm not buying anything but PS3 games until further megaton notice.

No, honestly the only titles I am interested in are MK, Smash, and NSMB U. If the Wii U is still $300 once all 3 are out, then I...probably will still wait for another price reduction. It's past the days when I can play these games with my friends often enough to justify buying it all at full price.

Sadly, no. Would heavily consider at $199 or $150. With PS4 coming up, I know that if I got a WiiU, it would be ignored more often than not. They should have launched at $199 ... maybe would have had more of an install base that would have enjoyed it in that tweener phase of next gen.

Already have one but that WWHD Bundle for $300 is irresistible. There should definitely be some great holiday sales for Wii U for $250.

No, I already passed on cheap retailer sales although I am interested in many games.

I dislike many of Nintendo's decisions like the missing account based DRM or cheaping out at every possible end of the hardware. With the latter, I don't even mean the overall power itself, but things like the low res resistive touch screen, low capacity gamepad battery or missing triggers.

I'd rather spend my money on other gadgets and with the upcoming PS4 and all the holiday games my budget is already tight.

Gonna get the Wii U used some day.

I am in.

I have Monster Hunter already and there are lot more titles now that I am interested in.

I have Rayman Legends, Sonic Lost Worlds, and Bayonetta 2 on preorder and will eventually get Wonderful 101, Luigi U, X, Smash Bros., Wii Fit U, Super Mario 3D Worlds, and more depending on what else comes out.

Still too high. I know that it's less than a year old, but $300 (bundle or not) still just sounds like SO much for this thing to me.

Still 100 euros overpriced, there is still the issue of the OS there is still the tiny HDD.

If they drop it to 200 with a pack in game I like (pikmin, bayonetta 2 , 101, the next 3d mario) then I'd get one.

No chance. If I spend any money on hardware this holiday it will be PS4. Even with the price cut Wii U is still probably $100 more than I would pay.

I have zero interest in that pack in game. I don't like replaying games and I already beat Wind Waker years ago. If the pack in was a game I really wanted? Sure. I'd do $300. So basically, for me, it's a matter of time until they do a $300 bundle I want.

No, to me price is not the issue at all.

I know it is very far from the truth, but WiiU seems to me a non-portable oversized 3DS with very similar software linup... and I already have a 3DS. To me, WiiU does not differentiate itself well enough to justify a separate purchase.
