I imagine the developers are as surprised as you right now and busily working on adding features.

The gameplay's solid enough - easy to understand, with some depth. The ability to put text on the blobs adds a lot to it since people have fun seeing what others put in there (despite the potential for offensive stuff).

Using country names as keywords to trigger the unique flag graphics for cells is a good idea. It's another way for people to give their blobs some personality. There's potential to throw in easter eggs for other things (e.g. trollface), although that could get carried away and hurt the performance.

Yeah, they just need to add a split button for mobile users and they'd start raking in that ad money.

Spacebar to split.
Using some country names as your names trigger the flag graphics. I've seen USA, Canada, Germany, and Russia. Many others aren't working yet.
 
Named myself TheNeo and was briefly at the top of the leader board

Techniques I have found useful.

If being chased by something larger zoom between those green spikes. Will cause them to explain if they pursue and you can usually gobble up them afterwards.

If smaller stay near the center areas and find places with large food reserves.

If larger stay near the world edges there's a lot of "food" and smaller cells can be easily cornered even if they are faster.
 
fffffffffuuuuuu I got the biggest I've ever got (was ranked #2 in the game) and then I was moving up and my mouse hovered over a bookmark and I clicked by accident and left the game :(
 
Hm, what's interesting: The bigger you are, the faster you shrink on your own. Like, I was twice my size and even absorbed some stuff and still got smaller rather quickly.

 
I reigned as #1 for quite a while in my room. TLG E3 2015 has to happen now, right?

I've been feeding myself to JAPAN ever since. Feels poetic.

Most definitely in this case. I was trapped into an area but was able to move out eventually because I could fit through two of the spikey things which wasn't the case before. My blob was also more than twice or thrice the size of the second largest blob.

Even Bogi was then half my size and he was at #5.

Btw: If you look at my Germany game above...Prussia was larger than that, way larger.

A theory of mine would be that new spawned players/blobs take mass from existing blobs or from the largest one at least? So the time it takes for you to shrink would then be dependent on the number of active players which was quite high in that case. I'm also talking about 10-15 minutes.
 
Last nightI ran across a guy named "Dominator" being (purposefully) fed and grown by "Submissive"
