Agar.io

I want a full fledged game, with controller support, lobbies, teams. Maybe different modes like classic or one with powerups or different stages.

You can be assured a clone or two will show up on iOS and greenlight within the next few weeks. But theres some charm in the bare-bones-proof-of-concept state the game's currently in
 
So I decided to play again and there was a megablob covering the map and my computer laptop completely locked up, until I had to close down chrome after agar.io went away my computer resumed normal operation. Anyone else experience that? It was both Europe and Asian servers.
 
I tried to start a movement against the broken EU server (room)..

Had I took a minute to read the previous posts this would have been unnecessary to say. Sry.
 
Basically whats happening is if you get too big you start hitting all the spikes but you're so big you keep sucking up other players and you end up covering the map and growing infinitely, just did it with Google on US East. Exited out to fix it but someone else did it too lol
 
All servers are still broken, well that sucks. There should be a maximum mass limit. And an automatic server reset once a player hits that limit.
 
The guy behind this should just implement a gameplay fix that lets you "win" and start again if you got too big.
 
I guess Bara Husbando won't begin a reign of terror this morning. That as almost terrifying logging in and seeing a cell cover my entire screen with no movement.

Yeah, shits broken.

My laptop completely froze, had to hard reboot.
 
I'm been addicted to this game for the past few days.

I'm pretty good at knowing what situations to take advantage of, and I usually end up on the top 5 easily, and I top the charts frequently.
 
So, yeah, pretty much every server has someone taking up the screen making it impossible to play. It was a little fun while it lasted I guess.
 
Fixed I guess.

Anyway, I just had a game and was doing pretty well. I decide to go after the guy below me at the leaderboard and the orb I launch hits a virus beyond the screen and I explode... The rest is suicide. :(

Edit: And I swear that the place seems way more full. I have a hard time finding a place where someone will not chase me.
 
Suuuper crowded! I usually pick aggressively inoffensive usernames in online games, because nothing makes puddingdickthatisalsoblack69 madder than getting eaten by Wise Latina or Polite Friend, but this interaction was kind of sweet:

This guy should get a smartphone app made asap, I think there's going to be a lot of clones pop up since I'm hearing about this game more and more outside of GAF now.
 
It's cool that there seem to be way more people in the same room now, but now I get some severe lags sometimes where it doesn't immediately react to splits or direction changes. Just accidentally suicided because I hit split again after the first time didn't do anything and then it instantly split twice... :(
 
It's definitely running choppier than I recall it being last time. Some lag, and possibly even frame skips. Glad it's back up at all though.

On the contrary, if you touch them while bigger than them, they break you apart. Handy tool to stay safe while smaller though.

Although according to those people from before there was a bug that somehow used them to get enormous?

EDIT: Holy Shit, there really are a lot more people on now. It makes things a LOT more chaotic than yesterday. I feel like I have to keep a cool head yet still make risky plays so you can get over the hump of being too small. Especially since there's LOTS of aggressive larger (but still smaller than spike) units out there.

There was someone else named Sony that seemed to want my help, so I helped them by not eating them and just scaring everyone away. Sadly some guy named Fox ate up a part of them and Sony sacrificed itself and put the remaining cells into me.

Had to go AFK and then Earth ate me lol.
 
Hong Kong looks pretty nice.

Why can't I leave this alone? All that happens is I'm floating about, minding my own business, when some huge fucker with a racist handle splits off screen and suddenly engulfs me.

Largest I've got is about 500 mass. :(

To avoid some of the more mobile guys, try hanging out with one of the largest cells. They'll be too slow to catch you, and a split won't be worth it because they'll be vulnerable for too long. That and the presence of the big guy would deter some of the smaller predators.
 
Pro tip: follow the big guys around as they chase each other - one of them is bound to get chased into a spiky cell and split into a million, a sty pieces. I becomes second largest in about one and a half minutes doing this.
 
Nice little recent addition in case folks weren't already aware: before starting a game, "dark theme" is now an option if you'd prefer to not have a white backdrop. :D
