I do not trust them to reboot it right. If they do, it will likely have the console as the main development platform and will suffer greatly as a result. No thanks.

Very true, but it's nice to see them branching out from just AOK expansions.

Loved age of empires 2. Never played 1, heard it wasn't as good. Will keep an eye on this. Last RTS I played to any capacity was Starcraft 2.

They need to remaster Monster Truck Madness 2 with Play anywhere.
By reboot all I mean is a big update that fixes a lot of stuff with the store.

AOK is definitely better but the first had its charm.
They can definitely improve on a lot of areas that would make the game much better.

I'm warming up to the new sprites/models but they need to tweak the color palette. It looks pale and bland compared to the original.

Age of Empires gold edition was my first bought with my money pc game on a pentium 166
I still cherry the memories of the times were I couldnt play and I read and reread the manual and made drawings of the sketeches of the buildings that were on it.
I remember that had one of those big boxes pc games had but the cd case was just plastic, so i made my own art for the case by redrawing the cover from the boxart in pencil lol
I still have that box in my shelve.
So many nostalgic feelings with the trailer, i hope they remade the amazing cgi intro the game had, or at least made it in higher resolution, i watch that intro many times because I loved it so much.
I also loved the age of mythologues intro a lot

And omg the cheats, the baby with the shotgub, the car with nukes the photomans...

This being Windows store only kills any chance of success. There's no reason for this to exist when AOE2 HD is already a thing, is an actual win32 game and has recently got new content.

the Definitive Edition will include all the civilizations from the original game and from its Rise of Rome expansion, which was released in 1998...the game will also offer the good old campaigns with proper spit and polish, as well as a Classic Mode for the original 1997 experience,
that sounds nice. Where does that info come from?

They should include the RoR demo's Carthage campaign just for funsies too, that was my first experience with the game and my best memories of it as well.
I was so bad and so slow at it that I'd always have to retreat from my starting settlement to a corner of the map where the baddies didn't want to get me, it'd take me like 20 hours to complete just one mission lol
Then on the last mission where you have the huge city to defend and destroy the Roman Colosseum, I'd say "fuck this", transport everyone across the sea where the secret army you can get is, rebuild a city there while the original place burns
Goddamn I was such an amazing coward
Also that "Hannibal crosses the Alps" mission was one of the most memorable in RoR for me, I love that minimal building squad-based missions in these games

Many of the issues with the store are actually bugs on uwp platform features.
They built in many stuff like streaming install, A/B testing, delta updates and some others right on uwp (meaning these features are available even for apps outside the store).
Supposedly it's all fixed and if you have a fully updated install should have no more issues downloading.
