Agito Awareness Program: Learn about the coolest FF13 game here!

I am really really really exciited for this game.

But its sad that many people see Crisis Core as a great game. It was a good experience first time around, the second time I played it, i wanted to kill my self because how stupid the story was and how lackluster the gameplay was.

However, I am really looking forward to this game, when do you guys think this game wil come out here in EU land?

As much as I like Square Enix's style of 3d SD Nintendo DS characters and graphics, looks nothing like what the current DS could put out.

Not really, the datalog helped out alot. The whole fal'cie and l'cie thing is easy to understand...nothing really deep.

They look the same to me :

Please stop shitting up this great thread.

On-topic: This game sounds like awesome. Refined FFX-2 battle system, world map/chocobos/airships, and Ishimoto composing? Yes, please. I'll take two

I hope it's political. I fucking love politics in vidjagames.

X-2 has the best battle system ever in a Final Fantasy game, and this will take that concept and expand upon it, but unlike XIII it'll do so by allowing you direct, fast-response control of anyone in your party. :D

I did not know this, but suddenly a swirl of emotions and feelings have taken over my body!

I have very little interest in Versus since it's Noruma's. And FFXIII was pretty bad(Specifically the battle system). But just hearing those little words on the battle system shot my interest up. I still need to buy a PSP for the other 4 games I already own, and my eventually purchase of Y's 7 and PE3 :lol

Bukana, did you watch the trailer?
Yes, and this is my opinion, do I have to agree with u all !?

All I'm saying, the graphics could have been better than this, maybe I will change my opinon when I play it , thanks for not shitting me like others did :) .

What is this, Final Fantasy: Gears of War Color edition?
Game's ugly as fuck, but that's not important.

That's not to say it's looking the same as a DS game. I just don't like the color choices here.

What is important is the battle system sounds deliiiiightful. And makes me want to replay FFX-2. Right now.

Please don't replay to the pros, you NEWBIE..

Hmmm, can't wait for TGS ..

He's not a jr member. You are. But if he's the newbie..that means you've been banned already and are a dupe account?

Don't say stupid things and then use a screen from a ps2 game to back up your claim.

Dude, the pics were from a DS game ,, chill out .

No, Not really .

C'mon guys enough already, let's get back to the topic!

This thread needed to be made with all the Versus hype flying around. Agito has pretty much made no mistakes, so far; every new thing I hear about it makes me more excited. I'm calling it now; this will be the dark horse of the Fabula Nova Crystallis project.

Aeana, you mean kids need to save the world again? :P
Well, at least in this case, the kids are enrolled in a military school that is teaching them how to fight, for the purpose of protecting the crystal.

The battle system in the game is a new evolution of the ATB Kai system that was created by Takatsugu Nakazawa for Final Fantasy 10-2, and later refined for single character combat in Crisis Core
Hmm. I'd heard this game compared to Crisis Core before, but as I never would have lumped CC and X-2 as similar now I'm more unsure than before how similar it is. :lol
charlequin said:
Have you not, like... paid attention to the FNC project at all?

The idea of the crystal mythology, the l'Cie and the fal'Cie is central to all of the Final Fantasy XIII games.
Well, as someone who mostly avoids story details of games that seem to be years off, this is the first I've read (four years after FNC announcement) of what those specific linking elements actually are.

A few month ago I was really worried that this game was going to be vaporware because the PSP software situation and the possible PSP2.

I really have no idea why. When's the last time Square-Enix announced a Final Fantasy game and then just didn't bother to actually release it?
Well, there are certainly instances where a game has changed significantly in content and platform. Like Agito.

Nomura has mentioned many times that Tabata is really putting his all into creating a war epic with a detailed worldview and historical timeline, and that he is deeply inspired by Romance of the Three Kingdoms. These are really exciting ideas, because the last time we got a class based historical war epic style FF, we got FFT! ^_^

It has things like a world map so that makes it automatically better than FFXIII.

It was kind of on my "could be good" list but this stuff just put it right on the "do want" list.

So if FFXIII is the future, Versus XIII the present, and Agito XIII the past, why do all the main characters in Agito look like they just came from Balamb Garden?

They are different worlds and thus not in the same timeline. :/

It's more like the ideas of each game, not that they take place on a time line.
FFXIII was sci-fi.
Versus XIII will be modern, etc.

Noctis is a pimp.

final-fantasy-versus-xiii-high-quality-02.jpg

I do think the Agito outfits are kind of similar to the formal SeeD things they wear, and Lightning is kind of in the vain of the typical Nomura stuff which the 8 cast do wear when on the job, but I don't think Versus outfits are really like that.

So will there be free movement during battle? It kind of seems like there will be in the first trailer but I'm not sure how much things have changed.

LordPhoque said:
What ? Aren't them set in three separate worlds ?

I know they're not the same worlds. I just remember reading that the theme behind FFXIII was 'futuristic', 'modern' for Versus, and old school for Agito.

Probably FFIV Famicom, the original version of Crystal Bearers, and the original version of this would be the only times games had significant reboots from announcement to release. Cue some dodo bringing up the SGI demo.

But for whatever reason, i usually have more patience with portable RPGs, so i remain optimistic.

It's probably because portable RPGs are awesome.

(I make way more progress in portable RPGs because I don't have to settle in for multi-hour sessions to do it.)

Well, if he'd said "I thought this was getting secretly platform-moved again" I wouldn't have argued. :lol

Basically. I just don't have the time to sit down and play a 60+ hour game, unless I'm really committed to finishing it. I'll take a portable RPG over a console one most any day (with some exceptions, obviously).

Cant wait to get this, I guess this will be the last major PSP title coming.

It is going to be awesome, I do hope for the American release they do not get someone to sing the song again. I didnt really like how we ended up with Leona Lewis, I can only imagine they would get, although I would love it, Justin Bieber to sing song for America, lol, just out of place.

SN: Card holding person in the images and trailers is my favorite one, lol.

The card guy was, at least at one point, referred to as the main character of the storyline, although it could have changed by now. Honestly, I expect it might be possible to choose any of the characters to play as in the final game, but we'll see. EDIT: Actually, it might not even matter if you can truly control any of your party members like you're supposed to be able to.

multiple viewpoints like FFVI would be great

My understanding was you could pick any of them originally.

This might not be the thread for speculation, but I expect next time we see this it'll have a DQ9 style character customization too. And a fuck ton of different weapons.

I like how streamlined the menus are.

Based on the images, there even seems to be extra actions you can do, like evading attacks, cool. :D
I feel like it's worth noting that the battle UI has changed at least once since that screenshot. Someone who went to Jump Festa last year sketched the layout as he remembered it:

8hQ0j.jpg

Points of interest: the box at the top of the screen is supposed to be the currently active battle objective (which I touched on in the first post). The box on the left holds a rank of some sort, he didn't know what it meant. The circles had symbols in them with numbers next to them, but he didn't really know what they were for either.

Yes, that's correct. Things have changed so much without updates that it's hard to say exactly where everything stands now, but Card guy is probably still the lead character. As for different weapons... I don't know. It seems like each character having their weapon of choice is a big deal in the game.
