Does anyone else have a problem selecting 1920x1080 on the options menu? The only way I was able to set it was with the command line.
That's weird. Maybe it's my drivers?Defaulted to that for me, so no problems.
The game does lock up after a while, though. Could be my old nVidia beta drivers. Will try to update them tonight.
Anybody else having trouble playing this on a chair? Just flat out feels wrong and is ruining the experience for me

So how long did it take you guys to get the activation code? I was hoping to download it while I'm at work but I have to leave and didn't get a code yet
Its already "in the bargain bin" at GMG and what the hell does its original platform have to do with its quality? Quit embarrassing yourself and PC gamers in general.I'll wait until this is in the bargain bin. AW is a console based game, after all.
I'm not embarrassing anyone, including myself. In my experience, console based games, when ported to PC, tend to have that console type gameplay style and that certain feel to how they're controlled that I dislike very much. I know I'm being very prejudiced but, when you have been disappointed enough times, you tend to become really wary of these things. Its already "in the bargain bin" at GMG and what the hell does its original platform have to do with its quality? Its a PC game now, where it came from is irrelevant, judge it on its own merits as a PC game.

What is it that gives Remedy's current linear third person shooter more of a "console game play style" than their previous linear third person shooter?I'm not embarrassing anyone, including myself. Alan Wake isn't on GMG for me anymore. I saw it there in the morning...

Sorry, your search for alan wake returned no results.
Strange. Maybe they ran out of keys?

Hmm, why can´t my character run straight? he seems to always veer to the left while running, it´s distracting

The flashlight was always lit, you could only focus the beam with LT. There was no in between.Guys I have a question, I faintly remember in the 360 version that you had analog control of the strength of your flashlight. In the pc, playing with 360 pad, version it feels like it's an either or setting. Was this feature removed due to the nature of the mouse?
Would there ever be a possibility to add/patch something to the game so when using a 360 pad you still have that variable strength on the flashlight?
Thanks.

EDIT: If I'm not mistaken?
It's been ages since I played the 360 version, but am I wrong in saying that you could hear Wake read the manuscript pages during gameplay? Or were you always required to go into the sub-menu to hear them?
Its basically three states.
Not focus with loose aim.
Focus with better aim and a little zoom but without using battery.
Focus down with full strength so that the battery drains out. (screen turns yellow-ish).
Hmm, I'm becoming unsure but I have a strong recollection of actually being able to vary the intensity. I understand why that isn't feasible with a mouse I just wish that for people with 360 pad it was still an option.
I believe the second state isn't doable with kb\m, like the IGN preview video mentioned. Hooking the 360 controller should grant you that possibility.
It's the exact same as the 360 version with a controller. I've used like 2 batteries in the first two episodes because I use the in-between strength all the time.
It's lame that Nightmare difficulty is locked out until you beat normal. Normal is too easy, but Nightmare feels perfect. Combat is much more tense.
Check the Steam forums. Remedy themselves tell you have to enable Nightmare mode off the bat.

As much I as hate to say this, it's quite a good PC port.
I'm stuck on a section in chapter 2 where you need to use the flares. I didn't realise that you had to hold in the mouse button and wasted and bunch of them, now the game is telling me to 'grab the flares from the emergency box' and there's none left, leaving me with just my flashlight which is making this section all but impossible for me. Now I have to restart the whole bloody chapter because there are no quicksaves/quickloads or any kind of staggered saves at all.
...sigh...
