Alan Wake's American Nightmare - Debut Trailer

I want it on disk, Platinum Hits with Alan Wake and the DLC. Then I will be satisfied.

More Alan Wake is always a pleasant surprise. Just wonder how fully featured it will be considering it's an XBLA title?

Alan Wake surprised me. It was campy fun, so I'm down for some more.

Having read what it was supposed to be, maybe they should try go for that if given another chance next gen. That concept is boss.

When it's at the section where it looks like he's walking forwards inside a building firing a gun, look at the vertical white poll thing on the right-hand side. That's the only place it's noticeable for me, but it is very noticeable.[/QUOTE]

Wow. That's quite the tearing.

Sad Remedy is relegated to XBLA. Even if they dominate there, it's not the big leagues.

I see this as more of an experiment to see if something that was a full priced game and didn't sell huge numbers can come back as a more compact (shorter) xbla only game and be successful.

If this works I would not be surprised of alan wake 2 goes this way (and more big name games do the same). Gets us closer to that true episodic nature of games people have been wanting for a while now but lets ms experiment with this on the current xbox to see if it works and then either drop it or if successful bring more of their franchises to this model in the next xbox.

I hope there is less zombie moments compared to the first (the biggest thing I did not like about all the vga stuff was how everybody was doing zombies in various forms)... to me the best parts of alan wake were walking through the empty forest when the surround sound was in full effect. Hope there is more of that in this game..... also helps make the combat situations have more impact and also makes them feel scarier.

It seems more like a chance for MS to experiment with different strategies for seemingly niche titles. Those Japanese Kinect games would bomb horribly here in the US, but at least on xbla they are easily accessible for purchase and can be advertised as such. It does sound like this game could be quite large, so I wouldn't write it off for that.

Why is Mr. Scratch the enemy? Wasn't he supposed to be Alan's replacement after the end of the game? I didn't play the DLC's.

Also, this seems like a straight-up continuation. All the 'next AW game won't be AW2' teasing was stupid. This might as well have been called Alan Wake 2. And where's Alice?

The best news is "Q1 2012"! I hope they continue with the "episodic" structure, having a generic with an end song (Bowie!) after different cliffhangers really helped the pace of the game.

I am one of the people who really liked Alan Wake, so this looks great to me.

Also really hoping it will be featuring the music of American Nightmare. (not really, that would be crazy)

Alan wake threads are a haven for bitter PC and PS3 fans. They bring up "sub-HD" and "no longer open world" arguments every other page.

Yep, because it's totally unlikely that there are people who actually bought the game and are legitimately disappointed with the blurry graphics and the repetitive gameplay (Just to name the most glaring flaws...)

Will play the trial game and then decide if this game deserves a second chance.

Looks awesome. Lighting is very strong and the entire premise looks moody and atmospheric. I hope it's actually HD this time round though, because not being so seriously did a disservice to an otherwise beautiful game last time around.

Looks too... samey. The narrative has become a convoluted mess and I can't say I want more of it. By the time I played the DLC I was pretty much sick of it. :(

If it introduces radically new gameplay things I could be persuaded, maybe.

Looks great, and I loved the original. Was hoping this would be a retail release at some point.

Trailer was good, but Alan Wake is average at best. I get the feeling people like it just to be contrarians.

Or maybe people actually fucking liked the game.

Cannot wait! Looks so awesome. I'm glad they're going crazier with the weaponry and enemies (well as far as we can tell). I also love the title.

YES. I am so hyped for this. Alan Wake is one of the few horror games I actually enjoyed.

No doubt about it: Day One.

Loved the first game.....does this carry on from the same story arch as ive completed the 1st main game and 1 dlc but never the last dlc (yet) did they wrap that story up as it didnt appear to come to a conclusion from the dlc i played!?

Do either of the two DLC episodes of the original end up in a way that it acts as a bridge for what this game's potential story might be ?

There better be new Poets of the Fall music in this.

Though they had a new track even in the iOS release of Death Rally so I don't think I need to worry too much.

Dude. Nobody spoils Twin Peaks, not even the most heinous of men. What you've posted is literally
the final scene of the show
and
would give away the identity of Laura Palmer's actual killer to anybody who saw the image and then begun watching the show
.

I have the trailer recorded in sync guys, but not the greatest quality (stream was not that good for me). I will upload it and then post it here.

edit: viacom blocking every uploaded trailer on youtube.... they should fix the audio then on GT.com
I did not list it, so maybe it's going to last a bit longer - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xgg4dIYnOUo

Seems like the writing is still as god-awful as the original. Is Sam Lake just phoning it in or has he just lost all creative standards?
