Man I love Alan Wakes aesthetics. Great great lighting. Now all they have to do is turn off spidey sense and I am all aboard.

They are clearly making this more an action game than a survival game. With scarier enemies (more off features).
The first game stood out so much for me, I actually bought it twice. I guess it's a fact that something new and fresh will sell less than formula-games.
Event though I'm a big fan, I think the character "Alan wake" doesn't have enough appeal.
Playing a 30+ writer with limited abilities doesn't appeal to a large enough audience (hence the redesign).
They've tried to do too many things at once. Survival-horror character and abilities, action-gaming level progression and flow.
But Q1 2010 hell yeah the wait won't be too long, day 1 purchase.

Blocked by viacom because it's taken from the VGA's. They want you to watch on their site.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue Barry from Mr. Scratch? Can't argue with more Alan Wake, I loved the original. But where's Barry?
Not to drum up the whole PC thing, but if this is XBLA, will it be on the PC xbla thing announced a few months back?
Do either of the two DLC episodes of the original end up in a way that it acts as a bridge for what this game's potential story might be ?
-Arizona / Route 66 environment - takes place in an episode out of Night Springs.
- contains a lot of information about events after the first game.
- If the original Alan Wake was a combination of Stephen King and Lostia, the American Nightmare is more Quentin Tarantino From Dusk Till Dawn-style.
- The game's story takes many hours to share. In addition, it can be found in an explosive action-packed arcade mode called "Fight Till Dawn". It got thrown into the middle of eerie abandoned places. The player is armed with an extensive arsenal of sawn shotguns robust automatic weapons, light torches, and, of course, a flashlight. The enemy is growing wave of wave and become stronger. If you gonna be until dawn, then you win, Lehto says.
- Remedy confirmed that the American Nightmare should not be the last adventure Alan Wake. [...] the follow-up is surely coming, but the details and schedules can not yet be revealed.

Sounds awesome.
Man I hope "Fight Till Dawn" has a co-op mode![]()

Hehe. YleX is actually a state run radio station.
Järvilehto also says that they are tempted to do something for PC gamers and says that they'll see if they could have some positive news about it in the near future. Also they say that the story draws heavily from Pulp fiction.

Edit:
They also say that it's more arcade & action and the pacing is faster.
I wouldn't be surprised if MS gave the A-OK for Alan Wake to release on the PC given its relatively lukewarm reception on the X360. We know that the PC version existed until MS put a pin in it last February - mere months before release - so it's not as though finishing said version would be overly time-consuming.
Probably to give people a taste of Alan Wake while AW2 remains an Xbox 3 exclusive.
The rumor is that Alan Wake sold 1.5 million. 900K being from the downloadable version.
I'd wager most of those DD sales were via the discounted codes on Amazon and whatnot.
Yep.
If I'd known then the ability to purchase Amazon US's digital items by simply inputting a fake US home address during checkout, one of those ~900k would have been me. Alas, I borrowed the game from a friend.
Edit: I did purchase the DLC, though. That's a show of some support!

Same here. Best decision I've made in a long time.Borrowed it from a friend, but went on to buy a cheap CE version before I even finished his copy.
You are a good person (no surprise there).
edit: who should I call to update the title with the latest infos a bit?
edit2: They still have not fixed the trailer's audio![]()
So it got more pirated then bought?
All of those codes were from the hardware bundles.

Seems like the writing is still as god-awful as the original. Is Sam Lake just phoning it in or has he just lost all creative standards?
