Almost 9 years since Midnight Club.

One of the most fun racing franchises! Great memories, especially unlocking the stupid moves where you can lift your wheels etc.

MCII was the best one imo. I much preferred that game's take on street racing than later on.

I'd love a remake for all the same reasons I want a true sequel/remake to NFS Underground/II.

I would love NFSU 3, but knowing EA, it'll never happen. I would love to see a new take on the Juiced franchise, to see if it could be made into an actual decent game.

Didn't Juiced or Juiced 2 have interior modifications like steering wheels and bucket seats? Can't think of any other games that let you do that.

Yeah, Juiced 2 did. It also had off-the-wall tuners like the Seat Leon Cupra and Renault Megane and I loved it for that, lol

MC2 was the peak of the series. Hard as balls, but so much fun. The one for 360/PS3 kinda sucked.

It was influenced by Mega Man 2 & Ninja Gaiden II (NES).
Difficult challenge, but with a palette of tools (abilities) to overcome the challenge.

Yea, I remember loving almost everything about it except for the driving lol.

Shutokou Battle game right? Never tried it, might have to look into that

Yeah. ITC is basically TXR for Xbox 360. Pretty good game too, if you can look past the jaggies lol

I loved midnight club 2 racing through Paris was wonderful, I loved the drafting technique it was sooo fun.
Too bad my internet sucked so I couldn't really play online, never played mc3

Midnight Club 3 DUB Remix is still one of the best experiences on XBL for me. Everyone just hung out and modded cars and had car shows online. We raced occasionally but it was all about looking good and showing off, and I loved it lmao

Good game, hard to find now though. At least it was for me, I had to get off ebay as no stores had a used copy. It's Tokyo Xtreme Racer but with way less cars. The trade off, though, is the cars that are featured have tons and tons of customization options.

Midnight Club LA was great. The city felt so alive and realistic.

I've only enjoyed Midnight Club LA and the Forza Horizon series lately. I cant get into other racing games.

I feel like the only person who preferred the first two games without the licensed cars. Just pure, simple and fun arcade racing.

This is my opinion as well.

Midnight Club LA was a pile of tone-deaf trash that showed they had no god damn clue how people played or enjoyed the game.

In MC3:DER (Which included the entire map of MC2 in it), police were a bit of a presence, but never more than an afterthought in races. That was fine.

In MCLA, the police were on your ass ALL THE GOD DAMN TIME. You had no freedom to drive around the city. It was infuriating. The whole game was a fucking cash-in. The achievements were fucking dumb. Like driving 100 miles on 2 wheels. Holy shit, that takes literal hours to do. There was even a T-Mobile sponsored achievement.

But the turd on the shit-cake of MCLA was the adaptive AI.

If you won a race, the AI got tougher and better. If you lost, it got easier.

Guess what? Sounds good? Except there's a catch. Remember Burnout Paradise and the "I'll never patch in the ability to restart a race" patch that put in the ability to restart a race?

People restart races. MCLA punished you for doing so by NOT adjusting the AI.

Every single person that had a good experience with MCLA is not someone who restarts races. Why do I know that? Because if you did, the game became nearly impossible after an hour or so. If you restart races, that means you are literally ONLY winning races, because you never crossed the finish line to lose, so the AI becomes an unbeatable punishing beast. That shit ain't fun.

It's my favorite racing series by far... loved 'em all. The mix of speed, vehicle variety, wide-open courses and (in latter entries) customization is pure magic.

MC3 was the pinnacle for me but MC2 and MC:LA were also outstanding.

It's a shame that people found LA too hard. It's challenging to me but in a good way. I'm an old man with diminished skills and I beat the game, loving every minute of it.

I doubt we'll ever see another Midnight Club, which makes me very sad.

I miss it most of all.

I recognize your name from the Gamefaqs days 🤓 The Rimbuk debacle (and user of course😉) were legendary.

A group of us played PS2 MC2 beyond the day they shut the servers down in 2014. Eventually, the server we used stopped working so well, and we gave up.

I'd throw crazy money at a remastered collection that was online capable.

This is an interesting observation. Gotta remember this.

Thanks. I cant remember if I did restart alot of races or not.

About the police, yea...they forced you to drive more careful at times. I thought it was cool tho.

I still consider it the finest game I ever made.

I found the challenge level just about perfect, but I also played the Complete Edition. Is it possible they changed how the adaptive difficulty worked in a patch? I remember the other drivers stayed pretty close but never passed me unless I made a mistake, which is more or less exactly what you want in an arcade racer.

I played Midnight Club: Los Angeles after GTA IV and thought that the graphics were disappointing.

Midnight Club 3 DUB Edition Remix for Xbox OG deserves a remake.

Would kill for an MCII and MC3 Dub remake with achievements and leader boards. Those two games were the pinnacle for me.

I remember spending countless hours playing CTF in MCII with the power-ups enabled.

Then remember when I got online with MC3, racing around in my Toyota Supra in Tokyo on the highways and then doing drag races in Detroit.

Soundtrack in MCII was great and the Paris map was really fun

MC3 DUB Edition was my favorite racing game for a long time.

Basically until FH2/3.

House real big
Cars real big

EVERYTHING REAL BIG

MC3 Dub has so much content for a PS2 game, it's amazing that it was between that and need for speed.

Two racing franchises literally at their peak. We had most wanted and MC3 Dub edition.

I remember just being blown away by the car customization in 3, there was just so much for a street racing game.

MC:LA was ok, but something felt a bit off about it and I can't wrap my finger around what it was. Still incredibly fun though

Must admit never played this series, what's the best one to get into and for what system? (As I have the original xbox and xbox-360) why isn't this even on the backward compatiable list for PS4!!!

Get MC2 on PC if you have the option. It's, at this point, very accessible to just about any PC. And then get MC3 on Xbox.

I'm down for another one. LA was literally the only racer I finished last gen ...

EDIT: Had no idea about that adaptive AI in LA. I restarted races a shit tonne especially in multi race events ...

i picked up MC3DER on my xbox as an ex-rental from blockbuster. Loved the game. When LA came out, it wasnt as good.

They did tweak it by that point, when they added south LA.

Midnight Club 2 was easily the most fun in retrospect, although at the time I really appreciated the graphics and customization in 3.

I loved all of them. I remember my cousins and I used to get on top of the boat in the first game and whoever could knock the other player off the boat first was the winner.

Red Dead Redemption wasn't even that good. I would rather have Midnight Club 5 than Red Dead 3.
