SANDURZ Lord Helmet.

HELMET (holds all the dolls out of Sandurz's sight)
What?

SANDURZ You're needed on the bridge, sir.

HELMET Knock on my door. Knock next time.

SANDURZ Yes, sir.

HELMET Did you see anything?

SANDURZ No, sir. I didn't see you playing with
your dolls again.

HELMET Good.

Rick Moranis totally makes this movie.

IMO it's one of Brooks' weakest movies, and comes nowhere close to the genius of Young Frankenstein (or is it Fronkensteen?).
I can only speak for myself, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is a pretty common phenomenon. Due to the subject matter, this was a more accessible movie to me than his others at a young age. So due to liking it at a young age and it being my first major Brooks exposure, it's hard to compare it objectively to his other stuff.

I probably saw this movie about 15 times before I ever saw a Star Wars movie.

So this movie is still far more important to my childhood than any Star Wars thing.
Same here. :)

I read somewhere that Specaballs was originally 3 hours before they had to cut it down. I really want them to release that cut, just to see all the stuff they had to cut out.

The other day at a hotel, the Wifi password was 54321. Spaceballs was the first key that came to my mind. My brother even quoted the reaction verbatim without ever seeing the movie!

Spaceballs and Blazing Saddles are both available via Netflix Instant Watch if anyone wants to watch them again. I know I will. :D

So, where does Robin Hood: Men in Tights rank among the Mel Brooks' movies? I know it's nowhere close to Blazing Saddles or Young Frankenstein but I believe that MIT is enjoyable every once in awhiile.

I can't believe Brooks hasn't made "The Search for More Money" yet. Lucas practically handed him the material on a platter with the awfulness that was Episodes 1-3.

Helmet: What's the matter with this thing, what's with all the churning and bubbling, you call that a computer screen?
Sandurz: No sir! We call it... Mr. Coffee! Care for some?
Helmet: Yes. I always have coffee when I read neogaf threads, you know that!
Sandurz: Of course I do, sir!
Helmet: EVERYBODY KNOWS THAT!
(All of neogaf covering their crotches): Of course we do, sir!

given how the cartoon came out, I think he's about done with Spaceballs.

Fuck, my dad still has the DVD. That'll teach me to lend stuff. :(

Loved the movie, even if the humour is low brow. Maybe even because of it.

"I'm a mog. Half man, half dog. I'm my own best friend!"

That line still makes me grin, all those years later.

This was the first Mel Brooks movie I ever saw and I loved it. However, after watching some of his other stuff, I gotta say this is the weakest. Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein are so much better. Spaceballs is still a good movie though.
