In the half second the father passes in front of her she appears and not even at the end of a motion but standing perfectly still. I'm tellin ya.. this thread is cray.

People need to read past ops before responding lol.. it's way past too late. Op should still take the money though.

It is too late, but you literally couldn't spend anymore money?
My bank is happy with me overspending, and then fining me later on.

I don't understand how this happened. You already had the plane ticket, you knew you had to get there, yet you were still 3 pounds short.

WTF? How could you not get 3 quid? I'm serious, this actually seems like bullshit, did you just make this thread up? You don't have 3 quid but you've got enough money to pay for internet and to make a whimsical thread on NeoGAF? SKEPTICAL!

I don't believe no one would give you 3 quid.

Hell, I'd give my watch or something I brought with me to someone. Or go pawn something.

The cost of something valuable or semi valuable on me vs the cost of the plane ticket and not seeing the people I want to see.

ITT we don't say how to look at the bright side of life, rather we judge op on his poor handling of said life.
Well looking on the bright side vs. doing something in the present to change the outcome.

The latter needs to be done first.

I can't fathom "whelp! Don't have 3 dollaz. Gonna go back home or not leave at all."

It is greatly appreciated, but if I made this thread with the intention of getting some financial help I'd have made it clear in the thread title instead rather than dance around it :p
I had already exhausted the options I saw at the time, and while I can in hindsight (hours after the departure of the train) see other possibilities, it's already too late for them.

Sucks and this thread is me sharing my stupidity publicly, so that I god forbid do not make these sequence of mistakes again in the future.

I have multiple bank accounts actually, one of which has plenty of money, but as previously mentioned it's unfortunately a sunday so any cash transfers would have to wait until tomorrow. I am looking at trying to get myself my ticket changed to sometime after christmas but we'll see about that.

Online bank transfers are instant and 24/7. I transfer money from my Lloyds account to my Nationwide account all the time. Hell, I did it this morning.

Oh, forget all about this thread, I managed to get my plane ticket changed for a return on the 24th!
It's a bit late, but it's better than never. I couldn't get a bank transfer in time because I rely on a foreign bank which does not transfer on a sunday.

ÂŁ11.30

I'm ÂŁ3 short, everyone I know have already left to see their own families over christmas and since it's a sunday I have no way to get a bank transfer. It also looks like my ticket cannot be changed either so yep, I dun goofed.
Wtf where I live I can transfer money from my banks android app to your account and have it show up instantly. Isn't that something normal everywhere?

I pushed a little girl into a magazine rack at Barnes and Noble and her dad slapped her. I walked away smiling because hey... gotta always be looking on the bright side.

No credit cards or anything?

Well that's weird... It's nothing that couldn't have been fixed with a credit card.
Being short on money to see your family because you spent too much on partying, is what happens to drug addicts and alcoholics. That's the lesson you should learn from this event.

it's rather true in nature. we just have a lot of things to distract us from that reality.

Life hasn't ever sucked for me in 33 years. I always have an upbeat look on things, have a great family and wake up every day with a skip in my step. I understand thats not the same for everyone but just because someone else thinks life is miserable and pointless hardly means that translates to everyone else.

I think life is an adventure, full of love and life. I want to experience the best of everything before I leave. You only get out of life what you put in, my advice for people looking for more is .. do more.
