Haha happens to us all but I don't consider those "platonic lewd pics" and I don't be think many others do too. On some know you know they most be jonesing for something whether that's just attention or whatever.

I mean shit the level for subtlety for those sorts of coversations has to be higher than that leave something to the imagination.

That plus 20 pages of a handful of people trying to convince everyone that friendzone is misogynistic.

It's just another term for unrequited feelings. Maybe with an understanding that its somewhat permanent. Since the majority of Americans probably don't know the word "unrequited", it's not that surprising another term became more popular.

I'm sure some guys complain about being "in the friendzone", but I don't see that as much different from saying "Shucks, I really like her and she doesn't like me back." If anything, the sense that it is "quasi-permanent" is helpful as the natural inclination would be then to move on. Not every unrequited romantic relationship implies that being friends is a good idea. I'm not sure why anyone would think that a guy and a girl should have to be friends if one party is not romantically interested.

Its also telling that very few people would complain about the friendzone to the person they are actually interested in. So I don't see it as trying to guilt anyone so much as elicit sympathy from their friends. Still a bit pathetic perhaps but not inherently objectifying anyone.

Nah, the friendzone is a pretty nasty term that places the blame on the one who isnt returning the love. No one is entitled to someone else's love. And even if they're being strung along, they have the ability to punch out and move on.

But the reason this thread is this big is partially arguments over this.

We have all the information we need.

They've known each other for three months, he asked her out, she said no, he remained 'friends' and helped her with her career while telling her to date other guys.

During this time he wondered if he was in the 'friend zone' and asked her, she said she'd like a relationship but not right now because she can't afford to move in with him.

Oh and he's been on 50 'dates' with her during those three months.

Nah, she's a very close platonic homegirl. Hell, the only reason I know her is she used to be my girlfriend's (ex now) best friend and roommate. We have never dated nor desire to date each other nor have sex with each other. However we are incredibly comfortable with each other, meaning she could playfully grab my crouch or I could playfully grab her breast and it's all good. I could go party with just me and her and we could do our own thing and meet new people and then dance/grind all up on each other like we were dating. I've met plenty of the dudes she was dating, and she asks my opinion on them. She also asks my relationship advice all the time whenever she's in one. If anything I just think she values my opinion from a guy's perspective.

I think the biggest thing is when you're platonic friends but there's still some sexual tension between both of you but have no interest in acting it out but being really cool with each other. The only thing is occasionally something suspect may occur between both of us, but it's typically something that just happens and never planned or looked into deeper, but it's nothing like a friends with benefits type of situation.

I have several close homegirls like that. In fact, there's only really one who's the closest to me where there's no sexual tension between us at all. It's funny too, because she used to date my twin brother and most girls I'm dating or in a relationship with have accused us of fucking on more than one occasion. With this girl we're so close, we've watched porn together and laughed and joked with each other with absolutely no desire to have sex with each other.
