Am I Lucky With Rare Gaming Stuff?

Over the past few years, I was able to find...

- 2 GameCube Adapters at standard price
- A physical SteelBook copy of Metroid Prime Trilogy for $15
- Shulk & Sonic US Amiibos at standard price, the former is guaranteed to be rare
- The last copy of Xenoblade Chronicles in Houston for $50
- A Super Target in the middle of nowhere filled to the brim with rare Amiibos (Marth, WFT, Villager, etc.)

Am I lucky? If so, should I test my luck further?

Eh. You're lucky when you find Earthbound for 2 bucks at a Garage sale. Your stuff is decent but nothing crazy.

My aunt has a copy of Earthbound she never uses if that counts. She's not much older than I am & she's studying abroad right now. Not sure where the box itself it, but the SNES & her stash of games are still back at my grandma's house.

I think some of us kill that :P in the past 6 months alone

-3 new 3dses for the price of one (er, I think, assuming this holds true)
-$60 XL (Best Buy PM, didnt do that sketchy walmart one)
-Won WinitWed twice
-Successfully got that MCC deal where it was like $5 with a best buy gift card?

Basically, successful price stalking+a little luck is all it takes.

Edit: And uh...I dont really find any of these to be rare. As said above, you finding earthbound from someone who has no clue what it is and sells it to you for $10 is a rare thing.

Someone on penny-arcade sent me the sms version of ecco the tides of time for free. Just because.

Its one of the rarest titles on the system, even among the already rare brazillian releases. Told the guy it was rare and wrong for me to take it without letting him know, he told me to enjoy anyways because i'd appreciate it more than him.

Even though I have loads of rare shit, I cherish that because the act was very kind.

Yeah it's just chance, there's nothing especially rare about them besides modern supply constraints. If you wanna press your luck [or whatever you mean], be an active collector, see what happens.

Would have loved to have come across that Saturn treasure trove.

There was a time when it felt like I won every other contest I entered. Won a copy of Nostalgia, Disgaea, and the first 2 Arkham games that way.

Yes... Yes you are... Looking to sell one of the adapters?

unfortunately you are using up the luck that would have helped you survive dark times in the future troubles on gaming stuff.

I still have money. In fact I set some aside for emergencies. Also, add Marth to that list (from the mentioned Super Target).

Bit of a stealth brag thread there, OP.

Yes, you are lucky to get those items a those prices, but not overly so. Several of those items may be more common or less desirable at a later date.

So aside from Metroid Prime you basically paid RRP for all that and you felt the need to share? I was expecting like at least a shiny pokemon or something...

Man i was expecting to see some crazy ass pictures of rare vintage stuff that goes for thousands.

I really wouldn't consider any of this stuff rare as its mostly readily available on ebay or something.

Do you have a 20th anniversary PS4? That's the litmus test

I have one but wouldn't consider myself lucky when it comes to gaming. Other things I have that could be considered hard to get were Xenoblade Chronicles with the controller and also Bayonetta first print edition. But those are both available on eBay if people wanted them anyway. Oh actually I also have the retail disc of Retro City Rampage on the PS4.

Doesn't sound all that lucky really. Some of that stuff was available for awhile. Since we're bragging I've gotten more than that but it really wasn't luck at all, and I couldn't get an order through for that damn ps4 despite trying for hours. That one still hurts

Just walked into a Pawn 1 in Pacific northwest and found 4 mint SNES copies of Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, and the Final Fantasy ii and iii games for $8 each... i mean mint original super sweet. Thats some damn good luck right there.
