Am I playing Fire Emblem Awakening the wrong way?

make Kellam a thief to get move+1, then a trickster to get acrobat and lucky seven, then promote to a general. team him up with a good galeforce flying unit. they'll pretty much clear any map by themselves. though i haven't tried the dlc maps yet. those look harder.

Of course it matters. Hit is calculated before skill activation.

is not in RD, thanks RD! (yes I know it's stupid)

Also, you're thinking of two turns, because I'm pretty sure it's impossible to kill Ike on Turn 1.

player phase of turn 2=one enemy phase
and I don't think you understand the definition of optimal, even if this entire Tauroneo tangent is technically pointless since Jill should quad Ike with the Brave Axe in the most optimal route

.....huh?

Wait guys, Donnel is/becomes OP? What?

Donnel becomes SUPERSTRONG (if you decide to look after him during his villager period). If you pair him up with Nowi you get a SUPERSTRONG daughter!

I'm going back through the other Fire Emblem games, and oh boy I'm missing the pair up system a lot. They're all magical in their own right though.

Exactly what I did. Was not disappointed.

I love this game. Probably my 3rd favorite 3DS game behind ALBW and AC.

The game itself counts it as Turn 2.

A technique that relies on a 12% proc is clearly not optimal. Neither is using Jill because there's no guarantee she'll reach a level where she can quad Ike by 3-13.

1. I was talking about going through 12 enemy phases via the "normal" way, whereas a 2-turn completion skips the 2nd enemy phase
2. Jill gets literally everything in an optimal run, you'd have to get severely screwed by the RNG to fail (especially because Ike would not be anywhere near max speed)

although if anything, a casual run strongly focused on another character like Edward would be even more reliable due to higher natural skill/speed, it's only when the EXP is split among everyone that the struggle begins
