Guys ... I just noticed that thats the guy from the FB movie :/

made me think of this

Actually looks nice o.O

the ps1 era graphics as special effects seem to be back!

The last shot seemed out of the original spiderman, srsly is this a 2012 movie?

P.S. Massive upgrade in terms of love interest tho. Emma Stone is way better than Kirsten dunst.

FP part was awesome. Wonder if its exclusively made for the trailer.

Too bad they didnt tease the way the Lizard looks

Wasn't crazy about that at all. Seems to be taking itself way too seriously. I like a little over the top fun with my spider-man.

Also that fucking Mirrors Edge sequence is gonna make people motion sick in theaters.

And its in 3D.

Scene ends with Spiderman looking at his own face in a window, its clearly made for the teaser, not gonna be on the actual movie.

Im guessing/hoping the origin part will be quick, the reason the teaser focus into that its probably because well.. its a teaser, even with that duration. They just dont wanna show too much. We barely get a look at the suit in motion.

It looks good but I don't think this is appropriate for Spiderman as a series. Spiderman has never really been grimdark nor does it suit that tone very well.

Way too much money spent for that not to make the final film. Considering it's also in 3D and will be pushing that gimmick hard, I'll bet that sequence makes the final cut. Hope it doesn't, but I'll bet it does.

patently false

Was that first person sequence rendered in CryEngine 3?

Does Sony's ownership of this IP ever expire?

As long as Columbia continue to make Spider-Man movies within a certain amount of time, they keep the IP. That's the deal with the FF and X-Men IPs as well.

A couple of times is definitely, in no way representative of the series at all. Spiderman is at his best when his tale takes on a more light-hearted approach imo.

I'm still pretty meh about the movie, but that first person Mirror's Edge-esque Spidey parkour sequence was amazing.

So the solution is simple. Destroy Columbia.

Why do these things have to start from point zero again and again ? Everybody knows about spiderman so insted of retelling the whole story from the beginning they should just throw spidey into some cool adventure from start to end.

Wait a minute, didn't I read somewhere that this wouldn't be a reboot insofar as retreading the origins story and assuming that people knew how he got his powers?

Even if they just remake the first one over and over again?

I loved the Cheese and wacky-ness of the Raimi Trilogy. Yes, even Spider-Man 3.

"Now dig on this!"

That being said, I dunno about this one. It really is a 50/50 on whether it could be great or not. The FP view was cool, but I'd obviously like to see it in HD before passing judgement on the trailer. Also, Emma Stone is a massive upgrade.

I'm really hoping it's the bad quality, but the CGI fps scene looks and flows a bit much like a video game.

I wish the animators from District 9 were involved here. They did a fuck awesome job with CGI. More so than Avatar, imo.

Wow i really dont want to troll, but i really have the feeling i have seen all of this before and i did in Spiderman 2002.

This just looks a more mature version.

kind of lame... who's the evil guy supposed to be, that's what i want to see more of, not too much of the "my name is peter parker and this is my story" thing.

Bring back Tobey maguire plz! Fuck, he's doesn't fit the role at ALL.

I liked Tobey Maguire in the original trilogy, but this is a high school Parker. Wouldn't fit at all.

Now if it were a proper Spidey 4..then maybe. Not that I think the world really needed a new Spidey movie at all for awhile.

Andrew Garfield certainly looks the part. Don't see anything wrong at all.

I..disagree....I don't see it.

So wait, that's the story of a dude named Peter Parker, who develops all kind of superpowers after being bit by a spider? Neat! Thank you, bloated teaser.

Tobey was awful, nevermind his non-existant chemistry with Dusnt, who was awful as well.

Garfield looks 100% perfect for the part, and his role in TSN cemented that hell make an excellent Peter parker

+ Emma Stone as Gwen looks like she came to life from a Spidey panel. Picture perfect casting.

This just looks a more boring/emo version.

Fixed.

Look at most art of Peter Parker. I would say Garfield fits the mold pretty damn well. He's relatively young, good looking dude, and he's skinny (he should probably be a bit bigger).

No matter of opinion imo. District 9 looks fantastic but all the prawns look pretty much the same and when they show multiple prawns the shots are usually from far away so you can't see much details in them. With avatar every single Navi or what the shit they were called looked different and even acted differently. D9 is still better film ;) But yeah, going by that teaser I'm not impressed with the CGI.
