Amazing Spider-Man teaser LEAKED

It's neat I guess. I really hope they just push through the origin stuff as quickly as possible to get to the actual Spiderman shit, but judging by how much time was devoted to the setup in the trailer, I'm guessing that isn't going to happen.

Oh well, this will be interesting to see one way or the other.

...........Meh

Two modern reboots of HULK and now two modern reboots of Spiderman. I think I have Superhero movie fatigue with all this stuff coming out, most of it garbage.

I will however buy two copies of Spider-Man's Edge™ though.

I will watch this movie just for Lizard i wanted to see him since they start making the movies.

I want my favorite Spidey villain rebooted. Venom. Topher Grace was a fucking joke.

But i like the Lizard too.

so is there no Mary Jane in the Amazing Spider-Man series?

In Spiderman lore, Gwen Stacy was the main female for most of the early years, with MJ being more in the background.

So yeah, probably. She might appear in the background.

Why so serious? Bleh. Stop trying to ape the Dark Knight, Spider-man. I thought he was supposed to be the friendly neighborhood web slinger, not angst boy.

MIRRORS FUCKIN EDGE
Was just gonna say, give me a first person Spiderman game!

...Was that brown curly haired with glasses lady Aunt May?

SALLY FUCKING FIELD?!

For appearance (and good performance) Rosemary Harris was better. Can't quite compare the performances yet but oh well.

Blah. I was really hoping they'd just assume everyone knows the origin story of one of the most popular superheroes on the planet and make a movie with Spider-Man already established and functioning.
Exactly. There's no reason that they can't establish the changes from the previous movie universe organically over the course of a regular Spider-Man story instead of going over a lot of the same material again.

I'm really hoping it's the bad quality, but the CGI fps scene looks and flows a bit much like a video game.

I wish the animators from District 9 were involved here. They did a fuck awesome job with CGI. More so than Avatar, imo.
The CG was obviously thrown together for the trailer. It won't be in the final product.
As for District 9, the CG looked as good as it did because shiny cockroach exoskeletons are pretty much the easiest surface you can have on a character. Avatar was a much bigger technical accomplishment (though D9 was amazing for the budget).

Obviously one is young here and one is much older...and saying one person fits an animated character or not is mostly preference.

One from a recent comic

I guess I sorta see Garfield as spiderman now looking at the more recent versions. Still don't like the serious feel.

Origins story again? :-S
I hope they get that over with in the first 15minutes..

Anyways, I enjoyed the more serious tone, the new actors and the overall direction, much better than the previous trilogy, that was awful and awkward.. I really hated tobey's stupid face

Its ok everyone. You have a whole trilogy of films with peter being a whiney little cry-baby. Just stick with those of this is too "emo" for you.

Quick question: Although I know mostly all the villians and stories in the Spiderman series I never really asked myself until this trailer:
What happend to Peter's parents? Always thought he is an orphan or something. Apperantly they play a small role in the movie.

They cant kill Gwen without the Goblin.

Id expect her to die in the sequel

Yeah, but they shouldn't do Green Goblin AGAIN. Make twists on the classic stories, it doesn't have to happen exactly as it did in the comics.

If the movie is taking cues from Ultimate Spidey (the director has pretty much said it is) then Peter's parents were scientists that were killed in some kind of cover up (and his father was the originator of the Venom suit, which was originally a medical project) Then again, theres no telling if they are following Ultimate completely.

Peters parents died in a plane crash. in this film
they are secret agents who die in a plane crash or something

They worked for the CIA and were killed while in a flight from finishing a mission involving the Red Skull. In the comics, Peter was just a baby and didn't know his parents. Apparently in the movies he looks to be about 7 or 8.

Alternatively if they are going by Ultimate continuity they were either A) Killed by Eddie Brock Sr. using the Venom suit or B) The Hulk killed them while Peter's dad was working on a new version of the Super Soldier Serum.

It's not really clear which one is right in Ultimate Spider-Man since Bendis can't keep his own continuity straight. I'm assuming they are using a modified version of the mainline continuity death.

Goblin was so awful, visually, that they can get away with it.

Just do Ultimate Goblin, at least there you have something that really visually sets itself apart.

We all know it. You CAN do a reboot without an origin story.

You just go right into the story, like in the Ed Norton Hulk.

Isn't that just the X-men contract?

With Spider-Man I thought they were limited to a certain number of movies.
Like most of the rights Marvel sold off when they almost went bankrupt, the film studios just need to have a film in development to hold onto the rights.

Do people not know this is supposed to be a reboot? Why wouldn't they do an origin story/portion?
Because the world has all seen how Spider-Man became Spider-Man. The first movie was not that long ago.

Like 99% of that trailer went against what I had heard for the last 2 years this movie wouldn't be....an origin story.

I'm a bit disappointed at the moment.

Hmmm, not sure if I'm liking what I see, but that's probably because the first Spiderman with Toby Maguire is still so fresh in my memories...

Another great example of a reboot but NOT an origin story is Batman '89.

It can be done... At this point, it's just lazy to fill up screen time with origin again.

They did do an origin portion/how Hulk got his powers.
Took all of five minutes or so though. This does not seem to be the case with Spider-Man 2012.

Exactly, i really feel that is was not so long ago i saw Spiderman from 2002, i mean again the scene where gets bitten, and then again where he stands in front of the mirror. Okay, seen it before.

Garfield looks like an asshole. Tone of the movie looks way too serious and boring. spider-man 3 may have sucked, but i still really dig raimi's style over this uninspired teaser.
