Um, if you failed to see where they are heading with this film (aka direction), then I suggest watching it again; perhaps multiple times.
You're talking to yourself about TDKR and Avengers teasers, right? Because that's the only way this isn't highly ironic.

Sorry, but this "teaser" was much better than The Dark Knight Rises and The Avengers' teaser. Gave me a sense of direction and idea of what to expect.

This was a trailer. DKR and Avengers were teasers. There's a pretty significant difference between the two.

Where the hell did I suggest that? The problem is is that this teaser gave some unnecessary information. It did more that just set the mood, it went all out in hopes of not disappointing.

You are confusing yourself for nonsensical reasons.

Hence the quotations around "teaser" since the OP was inclined to include it in his title.

understood. Maybe I misread what you were implying. I appreciated the vid's effort.

Just because you change certain things around doesn't mean that it's still not damn retread of a story most freaking people know by heart. This an origin story. Sure, they are doing another version of it, but we've already seen an origin of peter parker to spider man. They can still do all the peter's parents, mechanical webshooters, etc with quick flashbacks. We really do not have to see uncle ben get shot again, peter being bitten by a spider, his discovery of his new powers, or his training. Those scenes alone will take up more time that it should. Hell, half the whole trailer was him discovering his powers.
If they can do the origin better than the first movie (which isn't asking much) I'd sure as hell be willing to watch.

Can't help but be dissapointed. Peter Parker's parents have never been interesting, and the CGI is noticably shit.

The rest of the teaser was shit and the end was extremely mirror's edge CGIish but I really liked the concept of a first person spiderman view. Especially when he web swing to the next building.

I am going to remain optimistic about the film irregardless of the fact it treads on the same things covered in the films.

Plus emma stone!

It creates a narrative arc. Just because everybody knows who Batman is, we shouldn't have had Batman Begins? Origin stories set the mood for the rest of the film and trilogy. It's world-building.
Here's the thing...I don't want to pay to go see a kid get bitten by a spider and sort out his high school issues over and over again. If the sponsors of this movie would like it to be the first in a trilogy, then they should worry about showing the audience something they've never seen before. And a regular kid without any super powers, ain't what Spider-Man's audience is paying for.

It was cool to see the first person view of Spider-Man doing his thing, but the teaser would have been way better if that was all we saw, with a bit of swinging around and maybe a wise crack.

I feel like origin stories have been done to death already.

Why is he so skinny though.

AMAZING TRAILER NEVERTHELESS.

Skinny Spidey is the best Spiderman I think personally. Remember Peter Parker is suppose to be a nerdy science major that has trouble scoring with chicks. I would find that hard to believe is someone like Jake Gyllenhaal was playing the role.

Without clothes on he actually looks just like Jake Gyllenhaal now.

He never looked like a skinny nerdy science major in TAS.

I need to see this in HD.

However, I like it the First Person Spider-man View is..unique, just hope its a bit less shaky, or that scene could be Cloverfield all over again.

I trust in Marc Webb, and some of the visuals that were shown in the trailer were really cool.
I think the casting is right, however it is hard to tell other than the few lines of dialog that were actually said.

I need to see it in HD, but..Consider myself excited. I myself am not a Spider-man Comic book Officianto, but I do look forward to seeing the Amazing Spider-man storyline to be used.

just please
do not have Gwen Stacy know that he is spiderman in this movie
(basing this off of the picture of them two that was posted earlier, speculation has said he has his suit on in this scene).

Mirror for stream, please.

Couldn't get a stream, but got a screen shot

They're going in a weird direction.

EDIT: Honestly, just imagine a darker version of the first half of SM 1, except replace red head Kirsten Dunst with blonde Emma Stone, and have 10 seconds of Mirror's Edge with Spider-Man. Oh, and better coiffed hair on Peter Parker.

God that was a great scene.

Raimi did an almost scene for scene recreation of Spider-Man's origin from Amazing Fantasy 15, and still managed to fit a bad-ass car chase scene in there.

He even turned Crusher Hogan into Bonesaw with the late Macho Man Randy Savage.

How can that be topped? It can't possibly be done more accurately. It's beaten into the ground in a movie that's less than a decade old, that made nearly a billion dollars so everyone and their mother already knows the story. It's like rebooting Pirates.

This show is a travesty even with nostalgia goggles. Even if it wasn't, it portrayed Peter in his post-college life, which he hadn't even reached by the end of Spider-Man 3. Even in TAS, he has a microscope in his room and regularly hangs out with Dr. Connors and has flashbacks of going to Dr. Octavius' science camp.

lol This movie has been focus group tested to death. It looks like they crossed Twilight with Spider-Man and decided to call it a day. I also hate the casting.

Someone broke into their building and held them hostage till they handed over their piece of marketing fodder so that the robbers could release it to the deserving masses.

This is how these things happened.

teenage Spider-Man is boring we already know his story...

adult Spider-Man is so far more interesting as a character, Parker-wise and Spider-Man-ise

adult Spider-Man is more active at the Bugle and in the Spidey suit

I am a big Spider-Man fan and I do not care for this movie

Might have been recorded at one of the Captain America screenings. This could be a legitimate leak.

Then again, they usually wand you and take your camera phones at these screenings.

I've never had my phone taken away at a screening. They usually just tell you to turn it off and sometimes they'll walk up and down the aisles during the movie to check for any phone lights.

Just saw the trailer.

Besides some weak CG, it looks fine. But it's just way too early for a reboot. I don't see this generating a lot of interest, but we'll see.

Looks great, Spider-man's always been of the skinny athletic build.

90s fox cartoon probably isn't the go to reference for how spider-man is supposed to look.
That's my Spider-man as well, this is how he should look!

Looked solid, although I don't think the Mirror's Edge sequence was any good. Like DM said, it seems like a totally antithetical way to capitalize on the movie's practical stunt work.

If they do Goblin again, they should go for something like Alex Ross' design for the first movie:

Wait for part 2 :p

They've bagged mine and given me a ticket before.

No Green Goblin please. But Lizard doesn't seem like he can carry the full-antagonist role the way Ock can, or Venom (siiiiiigh) should have been able to.

Spidey is supposed to be very lean, less about muscle and more about less body fat than anyting else, but that last shot looks like SHIIIIIITTTT.

68972611.jpg

From his chest to his waist it theres no muscle at all it looks like, no definition whatsoever. shitty spidey cg all over again, what a way to reveal him, ugh

look at this spidey pic for example, there the waist should be smaller than the chest, and you can see he has that real lean bruce lee type muscle definition

detail.jpg

that shitty spidey shot looks like a malnourished african baby in a spidey costume

what he should look like
