Amazon.com Meters: Multi-platform sales comparisons

How long have they had this? I'm sure it's been mentioned before, but "amazon meters" yielded no results -- neither did amazon madden (at least not one that made it readily noticeable).

Here is how Madden 09 is selling on Amazon:

Xbox 360 31% (39% total)
PlayStation 3 26% (33% total)
Wii 12%
PlayStation 2 11%
Xbox 360 - 20th Annv. 8%
PlayStation 3 - 20th Annv. 7%
PlayStation Portable 4%
Nintendo DS 1%

Looks pretty much as expected. Im sure PS2 version will pass the Wii one with other vendors added in for NPD. Maddens home this gen is PS360. Thats pretty clear.

Divisive? What about descriptive? I was conjuring gameplay mechanics using a yardstick in south america.

Kinda surprised by the low PS2 numbers though. Guess that makes it official then.
 
Is this representative? Are there any hard numbers attached to those? Would be very interesting if so.

It's fucking amazon, not representative of anything other than shopping habits of those people who happen to buy their gear on Amazon. :lol

No different than people getting excited cuz their console/game of choice made the top selling list all of a sudden. It doesn't represent shit in the market, just excites people with ADD who gets a hard on any time the stuff they buy/want to buy gets put in some kind of comparison chart/list with other stuff.

We have much work to do on you, Haunted. >:o
 
Wii 1% higher sales than the PS2 version? I wonder if this'll even begin to reflect NPD at all. Much higher than expected though, maybe the "All-Play" thing worked?

I don't see anything bad in those numbers. If anything, it shows that the PS3 is catching up in software sales, despite its smaller userbase.

Seems they update them in real time. Very cool.

I'll be keeping an eye on the warhammer online vs wrath of the lich king numbers... Warhammer online is currently crushing lich king (!!!) 78% to 22%, although warhammer is closer to release and people are probably waiting for the Lich King LE pack. Still that's suprising. It'll be interesting to see how that translates into total sales.

Well... casuals are generally defined by not having enough time. Buying online would be more of a casual thing.

I don't know... I'd expect the casuals to be more likely to buy it at Wal-Mart or some place like that. Ordering video games online could be "more casual" due to the fact that you won't get a game on the release date, but it's more of a "serious gamer thing" than just walking into a random store and buying it, or at least I'd think so.
