Amazon Deal of the Day: Dead Space 2 - $40

Rented it on 360 and am thoroughly addicted to this game. That's definitely not the version I want to own though.

Tough choice. I'm happy to see the PC version is discounted too since that's the version I really want, but I was waiting to see what the singe player DLC is really like, since it's only coming to consoles.

PS3 Version Get!

For multiplat games I always always get 360; I prefer the controller and have more friends on XBL for multiplayer, but I've decided to let Gold expire plus the PS3 version is 1 disc vs the 360's 2. Extra bonus: Dead Space Extraction!

There's rumbling on CAG that the PS3 standard version no longer includes Extraction, any possibility of that?
Really? Guess we'll see if that's true in a few days from CAG. I ordered the PS3 CE.

I don't think so. Amazon has always had the limited edition listed as "standard edition" and people that ordered received the LE. I think MOH PS3 is still the limited edition, and that sold a ton and has been out for a few months. I wouldn't worry about not getting Extraction.

Yeah I'm thinking the same thing, helps with the uneasiness to see someone else say it though. Thanks

Paid for it full price and have no regrets about its value. Seriously people, this series is my spiritual successor to RE4, that being said, you CAN'T not play this gem.

Wish they put ME2 on sale for that price.
Kmart had it on sale for 45 bucks last week, and they still have it as part of their BOGO, got my copy for $39 with LBP2.

And with this, I am close to telling Dragon Age 2 and Battlefield 3 to eat shit, especially given I have both the 360 and PC versions of BF3 preordered.

Is it really worth $20 to be there on Day 1? Ehhh.... I'm not really much of a super bargain hunter type of dude, but it seems kind of a gratuitous waste of money at this point.

FFS, if I canceled all 3 of those preorders and picked them up a couple weeks later, I'd save $60. I have to think about this, especially given that Witcher 2 and Skyrim are the games I'm REALLY looking forward to this year.

Are there an bonuses for having a Dead Space save on your hard drive?
You only get the old Plasma Cutter. Its the same as the new one tho, no enhancements.

Edit: beaten

I'm almost done with Dead Space 1 and I doubt the price for this drops any lower until the end of this year.

Many thanks, OP. Ordering now. :D

Original/DS1 skin for the plasma cutter.
It's only a skin though, no powerup.

I must have it. :O

Guess I'll get it some other time. I double dipped on DS when I got my PS3 but only finished the first chapter.

EDIT: Oh wait, it only needs a save right? Not a completed game?

Not really a surprise - I picked up both Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2 a couple of weeks after launch for $20 less than retail price both times.

Though with shipping to Canada this offer isn't any cheaper than buying it at $60 here at the moment.

I was watching my friend play Extraction over the weekend. It's shockingly good. The voice acting is a little campy compared to DS2, but the plot and pacing are superb. It's like watching a movie where you get to shoot stuff.

I only got an HD console in September 2009, but I still haven't bought a retail PS3/360 game at launch and paid full price. Price drops come too quickly for that to make sense.

The closest I came was FFXIII, but I got that from Best Buy during its launch week for $55, and then a couple of months later got a $10 Reward Zone certificate in the mail.

Went with the PS3 version for $40. Good timing as I almost bought it on friday locally for $60.

Only half way through the first one (360 via games on demand) but that was last year. Is this a true sequel, like should I consider finishing the first, or can I just jump into this one when it arrives?

I'll wait for it to hit $30.00.

Why not just rent it for $7-10? The game is about 15 hours on Zealot difficulty(second hardest, hardest being unlocked after 1 play through).

The multiplayer is trash, so really renting it seems like it'd be the best option in your situation.

Shit....

I'm gonna ask my wife.

Does she not approve of the content in the game?

Sup Zlatko.

No, I played my games very little. Meaning it will take me ages to beat this game. Plus, I like to own my games instead of borrowing.

Finish the 1st game 1st.

wow, i feel stupid paying full price last week at my local game dealer :(. lesson learned, unless i need the game release day wait until the first inevitable price drop.

$39 isn't bad, but I'm not in a position to buy games at the moment and I've been dying for this game forever. :(

Dead Space is seriously one of the best things of 2008.
