I'm amazed that they were ranked so high for workplace environment. I've heard nothing but terrible things about them on that front.

Depends on what product you work on. I've known some people who've worked there and do normal 40-50 hour weeks and are able to just relax on the weekends. I know some others who are working practically 24/7, obsessing over their job, and some who have to carry their laptops around with them all day every day because they're on call.

I let my Amazon Prime membership expire and on the 5 orders I have placed since then, every one had free 2 day shipping. So it looks like the Prime only gets you the videos now.

Would you all say Wells Fargo has the best reputation for national banks?

The only company that deserves respect on that list is Costco. They are one of the insanely few corporations that have used neo-liberalism as intended. To use the lack of regulations to keep the prices of goods down while having the employees getting the fruit of the rewards or at the very least not shafting them.

The rest of the list seems wrong to me. Google may give hundreds of millions to charity here and there but they dodge billions in tax revenue. Whole Foods CEO thinks a centrist president is pushing fascism. Coco-Cola is widely known for donating to paramilitaries to assassinate union leaders. Disney just seems like an odd choice. Apple....lol. I've heard things about Amazons treatment of their warehouse employees but I'm not sure how much of it is legit as it could have been blown way out of proportion so I'm not going to judge.

All this list tells me is how incredibly naive the public is. I mean I'm not asking you to think of these companies as bad as say Monsanto but "most respected company"?

I also love it when the "liberal" Costco accelerates their dividend to avoid high taxes for those very progressive people on top, who stand to make a lot of money. Soooo progressive!!!!!!!

Amazon is awesome!

Last week I didn't receive a package that the post claimed was delivered to my house. I e-mailed Amazon and they sent a replacement free of charge the next day with a very nice response on top of it. No hassle or questions either. Didn't realize they were THAT amazing even though I've been using them as my primary online retailer for years.

Amazon is great but Costco should have been number 1. Between the top products they carry for a cheaper price, how they treat their employees, the amazing return policy and the CEO not getting greedy with his pay, it's no contest IMO.

In regards to us customers they are a fairly great company. Hope they work on their warehouse conditions with all those reports/rumors how crappy it is.

Bought an expensive laptop, used it, had buyers remorse and returned it expecting a restocking fee. Nope, got every cent back. Amazon is cool in my book.

Apple ? Wow I stopped buying from them a long time ago , the build quality of their products are very poor and long lines for service are a joke.

I'm surprised Disney isn't higher on the list , I've never had a problem with them even with visting Disney world 2-3 times a year since I was a child

They deserve it just for Prime. Free 2-day shipping, no tax, 1GB cloud storage, and some free streaming videos even in HD (with some great shows Netflix doesn't have).

Amazon has been very, very, good to me so I agree.

I don't understand the Whole Foods thing though, image I guess.

I love Amazon. Have been Prime'd for who knows how long, and I spend silly amounts with them. But I do also appreciate the company is sort of responsible for much of the death of many facets of etail and retail right now. The tax evasion options need to be cut down because they are crippling the competition.

Whilst I love my great deals, I don't love them enough that I completely turn a blind eye to the cost of that convenience and pricing.

Just wait until they get my scathing letter in regards to my Fire Emblem delays. *hrumph*

Respected my ass

(just playin)

Amazon is great. I'm going to be really annoyed when they start charging sales tax in my area, but so far I preferentially look there before anywhere else. You can buy freaking konnyaku on their site.... never expected that.

Amazon customer service is fantastic, and I respect the company for that, but I'm genuinely concerned about the working conditions at their logistics partners. From recent articles I've read the jobs at those warehouses sound nightmarish. Amazon is responsible for that too.

I also love it when the "liberal" Costco accelerates their dividend to avoid high taxes for those very progressive people on top, who stand to make a lot of money. Soooo progressive!!!!!!!

If thats what it take to get out of the running and into the "shady business" category than the majority of the other companies on the list could be compared to African guerrilla diamond mines.

Amazon is ridiculously reliable in terms of low prices, shipping times, good Digital Download deals, and even returns on the rare occasion I ned to return an item. I never have to deal with any bullshit with Amazon, ever.
