Amazon Prime Shipping has gone to complete shit

So they raise the price, and the service gets worse.

Sunday morning I ordered a new briefcase, used my prime 2 day shipping. I expected that it probably wouldn't ship until Monday and probably get here Wednesday, but maybe I would get lucky and it would arrive Tuesday.

It didn't arrive until around 8pm today. So why exactly am I paying $99 a year? This past holiday season was the first sign of trouble. I had at least 4 shipping delays with things not showing up until 4-5 days after I placed the order - and yes everything was prime eligible.

Every time something doesn't arrive within 2 days, on its stated expected delivery, I shoot Amazon an email. They are apologetic, and very generous with the $5-10 promotional credits every time I complain, but that's not really what I want. I just want the service that I pay for to work like its supposed to work and for Amazon to do what they say they will do.

I understand shit happens. Weather, theft, other bullshit that might delay. Once or twice I can overlook, but this shit is now to the point where its habitual.

I can only speak from my own experience, but not a single order of mine through Prime has taken more than two days since the price hike. Sucks that you're having this issue, OP.

Could depend on where you live or something. Here outside of Chicago, if I order something Sunday, I have it by Tuesday, without fail.

I had an item be delivered one day late, by USPS instead of UPS as the order stated. But for the most part, it has been consistent. I've been getting random one-day deliveries as well.

$99 well spent, so far.

Was it FEDEX, Op? They're utter garbage in NY, and it took them four days to deliver an overnight item.

Also, let Amazon customer service know, and they will credit you.

Was it an issue with the company delivered it or a case of them preparing and shipping your order too slow? I only have issues when they use those crummy shipping companies. For example, Lasership. When they use UPS no problems.

Same with me. I have ordered tons of stuff and I always get it in two days not including Sundays. Sometimes I'll even get my items the very next day. Though that's probably because we have Amazon warehouses here in Phoenix

Nope, the problem is always UPS.

It blows my mind because Amazon has an enormous shipping center 1 state over, and most items I order come from there.

They do credit me when I complain, usually $5-$10 but its happened so much over the last year, I'm frustrated to the point where I don't want shitty little credits, I just want my shit within the 2 days. I guess on the bright side, between all the promotional credits I've received, I've only paid about $50 for Prime this year.

Happens to me a the time when they ship via OnTrac...aka, random person in a compact car that doesn't know how to gain entrance to my complex despite it never being a problem for ups or fedex.

I ordered something at 10pm on a Monday Night once and it was at my doorstep at 2pm the following day. No complaints here

I order tons of stuff from Amazon (less now because of sales tax, in the past would order everything including laundry detergent, paper towels, you name it). Never, ever had a late item with Prime.

The free super saver shipping usually gets me things in 3 days (I usually order the weekend, so I get my stuff on Thursday. (Which is usually a day before Amazon's estimates)

I got a Prime membership last week (student offer) and got my stuff Thursday anyway. Unimpressed so far on my end. No point paying unless I expect to do lots of orders under $25 (I don't).

I'm in a relatively remote area, so I'm guessing packages are being routed on the same trucks by the carrier regardless of the shipping option.

I've only had one or two delays total out of probably 100 orders, one of which was a lost package (reshipped overnight for free), and the other was just late by one day. plus, getting free 2 day through shopbop and east dane as part of prime is just ace.

I got service via OnTrac exactly once. Package never arrived and to this day I'm pretty sure the delivery guy just flat out stole the package. Amazon did overnight the item to me via UPS, though, and it got here just fine.

Hey I've had OnTrac lose a package also! Every time I see that it's being shipped by them, I give it a 50% chance of showing up.

I'm surprised Amazon still does business with them tbh, because every time OnTrack "loses" a package it's Amazon who has to replace the item for free.

Not sure about OnTrack in particular, but there usually is a claim procedure that allows a sender to be refunded for the lost package's value, so it wouldn't be Amazon footing the bill in the end.

Everything I have ordered on Amazon has been delivered earlier than scheduled or on time. Usually the former.

I have no complaints and love Amazon Prime.

They are building a warehouse about 5 minutes from my house. I can't lie, I'm pumped, but I agree Prime hasn't been worth it to me recently. Tracking would say two days and it wouldn't get here until 3 or 4 days.

Let them know what happened and they might refund some of your order or give you some amazon prime for free.

Id rather get more prime free than promotional credit.

I'm sure Amazon told those shipping companies to start taking their time in order to make even bigger profits from the Prime price hike. :p

Yeah Ontrac blows. Tried for 2 days to deliver a package but couldn't figure out the door when I gave the guy the code (admittedly it did take some finesse) but he was a total impolite asshole the whole time. Next time he calls me when my finacee is home and I tell him I'm going to call her to open the door. He's not there and there's no package, I call him back and no answer. When I come home I found he's dumped the package in a not obvious location outside the building but didn't leave a note or anything.

I don't think I have ever received a package after the guaranteed time.

In fact, nowadays I receive many packages the very next day, even things I order in the afternoon the day prior.

I've been a member for about 2 years, if not more at this point and I have never been let down.

Every time I've had an issue with Amazons shipping it's always been the couriers fault. Like they dropped it off at the wrong house.

Amazon prime has been flawless for my many shipments except for one occasion, which did aggravate a bit: when I last ordered a 120hz ASUS monitor for my PC, they didn't pack it inside any kind of general box and instead sent it with shipping labels stuck to the monitor box. Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but the courier this time seemed to think it'd be okay to leave a shiny and expensive looking brand new monitor-in-box on my front doorstep, all without even ringing the doorbell or knocking on the door (my roommate and I were both home all day and I didn't discover the monitor until leaving the house to step out). I kind of regret not making a stink about it right away.

Was having the same problem a few months ago and contacted customs service and amazingly things started shipping rather quickly again. That lasted a couple of months and has returned to the same thing. Every once In awhile they'll surprise and ship something quickly, but not often.

I'm talking about the actual time for them to process the order and give to the carrier.

No problem here but how the hell do you guys get Sunday delivery? Hell they even make you pay extra for Saturday now even with prime :S

I don't think I've yet to receive a Prime order within 2 days. 3-4 days is standard, though it has taken as long as 5.
