Well the cartridges may be region free, but accounts may still be limited by region. You may only have access to European eShops. I hope that isn't the case but it wouldn't surprise me if it is.

Yup that's what I did.
I have an pending charge for Best Buy but that might just be an authorization. I don't believe they actually charge until the items are available but not 100% certain.
They and best buy put a temporary hold on your account. Which is even worse than charging up front imo.

Also has a popup on the right side that will let you see which stores are doing a Midnight launch, and you can pick up your switch at 12:01am on 3/3 and be playing well before others who get it shipped. They seem totally sold out on the neon (red/blue) versions but the grey one is in stock for pickup in a lot of stores around me and shipping, YMMV on your zip code of course.
Best Buy doesn't charge until ship if you pay with credit card, if you pay with paypal/gift cards I believe they charge immediately. They DO put a temp hold on cc/debit and keep it there for a while. You are able to cancel online orders (for ship or pickup) up until it is ready to process, usually 3-5 days before release. For pickup orders just not picking it up will also cancel it after 7 days of the release date.
I am 100% sure now that tons of these units will be in stock at Best Buy stores at launch, because I know of at LEAST 10 people who pre ordered on best buy but are going to likely cancel before launch, myself included. So if you didn't get one I wouldn't really freak out, I am pretty sure these are going to be easy to pick up on 3/3 in store at many places.

Why is Breath of the Wild still not available on Amazon?
Apparently it sold out last night according to users on reddit. I wasn't expecting that.
They've always shipped to PR. Just not everything.
For example, I have ordered electronics and games, but clothes and pens were a no....but somehow colored pencils could. Would've expected the opposite. XD

Yeah, forgot to mention I meant as in free shipping xP I tried ordering once from them and shipping came at 30 dollars O_O (it was some amiibos). But I see shipping is free for this and no tax too...so might go this route.
Sadly they put a hold so can't, cause I would actually have the money by end of February for it. Hopefully by then I can still pre-order or amazon opens their pre-orders again.
