AMAZON US Switch up

WiiU day one Patch was all over the place when it launched. People whining about it everywhere. Mainly, iirc, alot of people weren't aware that you could BG it or skip it(I think). Or maybe I am confusing that last part with launch game day one patches.

But was it issues with the servers not working to get the patch, or people just not knowing they needed internet access to set up the console (and that it was skippable as you note)? Sorry, getting ready to head out of the office so no time to look. I remember it being pretty painless for me, but I had solid internet etc.

Definitely! It reminds me of the Japanese Hori PS Vita hard pouch that I have. It pretty much looks like a longer version of that.

Yeah, but even if you spend the extra $80, it's still not the same. You must have the beautiful Neon Switch console box to go with it, otherwise you're just being a poser.

;)

You joke but it really is not the same. The $80 joy cons have flipped colors. For all intents and purposes the set you get with the Neon console is unique and would require you to pay an extra $100 to get that exact color set. Furthermore, because the colors are flipped you can buy the $80 and get two sets of matching colors right out of the gate. That's why I'm hunting down the Neon console. Overall it's much richer in terms of colors than the grey one.

They're not really unique. But you would need to buy both the neon blue , and neon red to complete the set. Which would mean $160.
Edit... i just repeated what you said. xP

Just a heads up for you refreshers. Recent history says Amazon doesn't put up preorders this late. So you refreshers can probably call it a day. Well maybe another hour or so just to be safe.

Edit: disregard. Apparently I'm wrong with the Switch.

Don't know where this would go, but I was able to reserve a Switch console in person at Walmart. Luckily the Walmart nearest to me is kinda in a bad area. No one reserved the Switch at that location, so i'm good. I got Zelda, the pro controller, and bomberman all paid for on amazon. March 3rd can't come soon enough. All gray everything for me!

Oh wow, I didn't know that, lol. I see the pic above.

Hopefully you guys find one. At first, I was conflicted about which one to get; decided to go with Neon when I preordered. Glad I did, especially after seeing more and more pics of it.

I agree, I just love that color pop as opposed to the grey.

As far as I'm aware you can still buy single joy cons for $50. That's why I said you need $100 to get that exact combination.

Recent history? I'm pretty sure I got my preorder around 3 in the morning.:P

I'd attempt this but my local Wal-Marts are staffed by idiots. Receiving the handful of in-store pickup online orders I've placed over the years has been like pulling teeth. I would be doubtful anyone there would know how to properly place a pre-order for the Switch and I'd be missing out in the end anyway.

My Walmart said no preorders. They don't do them...

Maybe it was a trap! I'll admit that's strange. As somebody that as purchased almost all things Nintendo in the last couple of years, they have had a pattern. I got my switch preorder in the afternoon.

But if what you said is true, guess we can disregard my comment.

It was a mistake on my end. :)
By the way. Do you know if the single ones went up online?

I know the neon set went up Jan 13th. The grey set were up as well. I recall the grey singles being available. But I don't remember anything on Red/Blue singles.

... So I didn't really answer your question, sorry :P

I pre-orderered my Switch around 3 as well lol

NOA's accessory page only shows singles in Grey. The JP website shows neon singles as MyNintendo Store exclusives. Seems like neon singles won't be a thing in NA, but I'm just speculating.

Yep. In audio circles: bLue = Left and Red = Right
The console edition color way gets it right. Nintendo is just trolling consumers with that.
The separate set is reversed intentionally so that people who bought the neon system can have two complete pairs by just buying the one neon addon set. One of the few things they've done with the accessories that makes sense.

Hmmm... :P
That was my experience with the switch. I've got no idea on when it's going up.

I got the neon set. So I'll need to get the red(r) and blue(l) singles. Bummer. Getting the neon switch would've made everything simpler, and cheaper too.

I pre-orderered my Switch around 3 as well lol
See rjinaz? :3 I'm not crazy. :P

This makes sense to me. This way, if someone has the neon console bundle and get the flipped joycon set, then they have two sets of matching color joycon controllers. I don't get how it's "Nintendo trolling" anyone.

Because it's just inclusive for those who get the neon console bundle, which happens to be more limited than the grey console bundle. The separate neon controllers should have the standard blue left and red right. Most of the people interested in purchasing the set are grey console bundle owners. Now they won't get the color scheme as intended without coughing extra dough.

But honestly, it's a really minor deal. Just wanted to clarify.

Personally, I think this is nintendo just wanting to give more purchasing options to the folks buying the neon switch who want to have both red or both blue.

You are just supposing that no one wants the grey JoyCons.

I didn't like the mixed colors, so I bought the grey one and a pair of blue JoyCons. Now I have one set for an understated look and one for a colorful look.

If I had bought the Neon console, I would need to buy the pair of grey JoyCons and at least one single blue or red JoyCon.

Does the switch has lights in the bottom in its joycons? There seems to be a small green bulb shining in the centre of them in some videos. Can anyone clarify?

1. What? Huh? It seems more likely that it would be neon owners wanting to complete the color set.

2. It's still "as intended", like ... it's still sold this way. Nintendo is probably right to assume that people who wanted that Joy-Con configuration that badly would just buy the neon console.

you deserve a medal mister

I pre-ordered a nice Switch case that lets me carry 14 game carts as well as the system itself. So why the hell do I keep checking the amazon page for the official case =/

Someone posted a really nice case for the 3ds. Said the same company was going to make them for the Switch. Anyone know what I am refering to? Want to be in line to purchase.

You know there's a Hori Switch case right?
amazon link

The only issue with this case is that it seems to require the Joy-Cons to be detached and placed on the small flap containing the cartridge holders. I don't know how I would feel about having that amount of pressure on the screen during travel.

Edit: On the second look, it might still fit the Switch with the Joy-Cons attached. I guess that bottom loop could be for spares or the AC adapter?

The official case actually sold out not too long after they went up for sale earlier today. Not all that surprising though considering it's straight from Nintendo.

Just went into Walmart and pre ordered. If you can't find one online I'd suggest doing this.

Walmart is a dicey roll.... I remember that people that ordered nes classics in November did not get them into January.. not sure if they still have fulliflled them all.

It's well-documented on now in stock.com
